Joshua Cephus (born March 5, 2001) is an American football wide receiver for the UTSA Roadrunners.

Early life and high school

Cephus attended high school at Dekaney. Coming out of high school, Cephus decided to commit to play college football for the UTSA Roadrunners in 2019. [2]

College career

During the 2019 season with eight receptions 153 yards and a touchdown. [3] In the 2020 season, Cephus finished the year with 58 receptions for 547 yards and five touchdowns. [4] During the 2021 season, Cephus tallied 71 receptions for 819 yards and six touchdowns, as for his performance he was named honorable mention all Conference-USA. [5] During the 2022 season, Cephus notched 87 receptions for 985 yards and six touchdowns. [6] In week seven of the 2023 season, Cephus recorded seven receptions for 55 yards and two touchdowns, as he set the Roadrunners career record for reception's as he helped UTSA to a win over UAB. [7] In week thirteen, Cephus hauled in 163 receiving yards and a touchdown, as he set the UTSA all-time receiving yards record in a win over South Florida. [8] In the 2023 Frisco Bowl, Cephus hauled in seven receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown in a win over Marshall. In the game, he set the UTSA single-season receiving yards record, as he was named the offensive MVP of the bowl. [9] Cephus finished the 2023 season with 89 receptions for 1,151 yards and ten touchdowns. [10] For his performance on the 2023 season, Cephus was named first team all Conference-American. [11]

Personal life

On December 9, 2022, Cephus was arrested for a DWI after having a blood alcohol concentration of 0.15 or higher, twice the legal limit. [12] [13] After pleading no contest, Chephus was sentenced to 15 months of probation. [14]

The 2012 UTSA Roadrunners football team represented the University of Texas at San Antonio in the 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football season. This was the second season for football at UTSA and their first as members of the Western Athletic Conference. Larry Coker returned as the team's coach for a second season. The team played its home games at the Alamodome. This was the second of a two-year FCS to FBS transition period for UTSA, so they were not bowl-eligible. It was UTSA's only season in the WAC, as they joined Conference USA on July 1, 2013. They finished the season 8–4, 3–3 in WAC play to finish in fourth place.

The UTSA Roadrunners football statistical leaders are individual statistical leaders of the UTSA Roadrunners football program in various categories, including passing, rushing, receiving, total offense, defensive stats, kicking, and scoring. Within those areas, the lists identify single-game, single-season and career leaders. Since the 2023 season, the Roadrunners have represented the University of Texas at San Antonio in the NCAA Division I FBS American Athletic Conference.

The 2023 Frisco Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 19, 2023, at Toyota Stadium located in Frisco, Texas. The sixth annual Frisco Bowl featured the UTSA Roadrunners from the American Athletic Conference and the Marshall Thundering Herd from the Sun Belt Conference. The game began at approximately 8:00 p.m. CST and was aired on ESPN. The Frisco Bowl was one of the 2023–24 bowl games concluding the 2023 FBS football season. The game was sponsored by coffeehouse chain Scooter's Coffee and was officially known as the Scooter's Coffee Frisco Bowl.

Leroy Watson is an American football offensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns. He played college football at UTSA.
