Caleb Ransaw (born December 22, 2002) is an American football cornerback for the Tulane Green Wave. He previously played for the Troy Trojans.
Ransaw attended Sparkman High School in Harvest, Alabama and committed to play college football for the Troy Trojans. [1]
In his first two seasons with the Trojans in 2021 and 2022, Ransaw appeared in 21 games and totaled 30 tackles and three pass deflections. [2] In 2023, he became a full-time starter and totaled 51 tackles with six being for a loss, two pass deflections, and an interception, earning honorable mention all-Sun Belt Conference. [3] After the season, Ransaw entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. [4]
Ransaw transferred to play for the Tulane Green Wave. [5] In week 9 of the 2024 season, he notched five tackles with two being for a loss, and a pass deflection in a win over North Texas Mean Green. [6] Ransaw finished his lone season with the Green Wave with 33 tackles with four being for a loss, a sack, and three pass deflections. [7] He also allowed just 11 catches on 24 targets in 265 coverage snaps. [8] After the season, Ransaw declared for the 2025 NFL draft and accepted an invite to play in both the 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl and the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl. [1] [9] In the Senior Bowl, he recorded an interception in the end zone off of quarterback Tyler Shough which he returned 27 yards. [10]
Ransaw's cousin is former Alabama and NFL cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick. [11]
