Joshua Sridhar (born 1974 in Chennai, India) [1] is an Indian film composer and music director. [2] [3] He made his debut on the runaway hit Tamil film Kaadhal which was released on 8 December 2004. [1] [4]

Early life and education

Joshua Sridhar was born in Chennai on March 9, 1974 to Saravanan and Rajalakshmi. He studied at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Rajaji Vidyashram in Chennai from 1980 to 1990. After finishing High School he studied Western Classical Music for two years. He studied 8 Grades (Trinity College, London) in both Theory of Music and Piano. In 1993 he converted to Christianity and was baptised at Emmanuel Methodist Church (Chennai) and was given the name Joshua, the biblical character from the old testament. Not wanting to remove the name he was given at the time of birth he kept the name Sridhar and came to be known as Joshua Sridhar. In 2004 he came out of Christianity and now lives as Hindu.[ citation needed ]

Career

Joshua Sridhar began his career in the year 1993 composing, arranging and programming music for gospel albums and jingles. In the year 1996, he entered Indian cinema. He worked as a keyboard player/programmer for many Indian film composers (notably Manisharma & A.R.Rahman) between 1996 and 2004. In 2004 made his film debut as composer of Kaadhal. The film was released on 8 December 2004.[ citation needed ]

Yuvan Shankar Raja Indian composer and singer-songwriter

Abdul Haliq, is an Indian film score and soundtrack composer and singer-songwriter. He mainly scores music for Tamil films. Considered a versatile composer, he is particularly known for his use of Western music elements and often credited with having introduced hip hop to the Tamil film and music industry and started the "era of remixes" in Tamil Nadu. Gemini Ganesan Indian actor

Ganapati Subramanian Sarma or Ramasamy Ganesan, better known by his stage name Gemini Ganesan, was an Indian actor who worked mainly in Tamil cinema. He was nicknamed "Kaadhal Mannan" for the romantic roles he played in films. Ganesan was one of the "three biggest names of Tamil cinema", the other two being M. G. Ramachandran and Sivaji Ganesan. M. S. Viswanathan Indian actor-musician

Manayangath Subramanian Viswanathan, also known as M.S.V., was an Indian music director, singer and actor who predominantly worked in Tamil film industry. He was popularly known as Mellisai Mannar. He composed songs for more than 800 Indian films and various albums. across languages primarily in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films. He has also acted and sung in a few Tamil films. He sung 2000 songs in films, albums etc.He recorded his first Tamil film song for the film Kaadhal, in Joshua Sridhar's music when he was 17, and went on to record three songs in his debut movie. His song "Unakkena Iruppen" was nominated for the National Film Awards in 2005 which became widely popular. However he became popular only after his rendition to the song, "Thuli Thuli", composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja for the movie Paiyaa (2010).

<i>Pyaar Prema Kaadhal</i> 2018 film directed by Elan

Pyaar Prema Kaadhal is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by Elan, and produced by Yuvan Shankar Raja, under the banner YSR Films, who also composed music for the film. Co-produced by S. N. Rajarajan under the banner K Productions. The film stars Harish Kalyan and debutant Raiza Wilson in the lead roles. The film marked the first project of both the lead actors, after rising to fame from the television series Bigg Boss Tamil. Anand Babu, Pandian, Rekha, Ramadoss and Subbu Panchu appear in supporting roles. The film's cinematography was handled by Raja Bhattacharjee, with editing done by S. Manikumaran. The film was launched in December 2017, along with the commencement of principal photography, and was completed in June 2018. The film released on 10 August 2018, to a positive response from the audience as well as critics, praising the lead actors' performances, the screenplay, and the film's soundtrack. The film became a commercial success. The film won two Filmfare Awards South and two SIIMA Awards, including the Best Debut Actress Award for Raiza in both ceremonies.
