Jota Aviation Limited was a British specialist charter airline based at London Biggin Hill Airport, United Kingdom. It held a United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority Type A Operating Licence No. 2376; [3] and was permitted to carry passengers, cargo and mail on aircraft with 20 or more seats. [4]
Jota Aviation was founded in 2009, [5] to meet the travel and cargo demands of the motorsport industry. Together with the related Jota Sport, Jota Design and Jota Historic divisions, formed the Jota Group. [6] It was expanded into a specialist air charter and aircraft management company, offering 24-hour-a-day response from its London Southend Airport base. The company once declared itself the largest operator of Beechcraft King Air Model 90 aircraft in Europe. [7]
The company offered ad hoc or Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (wet lease) charter flights on its British Aerospace 146, [5] added to its Air Operator's Certificate in 2014.[ citation needed ] On 11 January 2016, JOTA announced the addition to their fleet of an Avro RJ85 aircraft. [8] It was delivered to Southend on 5 April 2016. On 20 February 2017, JOTA received an Avro RJ100 formerly operated by Brussels Airlines.[ citation needed ] On 10 April 2018, JOTA announced an expansion of their cargo fleet with the addition of four BAe 146-300QTs, the first of which, was expected to enter service on 1 June 2018. Jota Aviation ceased operations in April 2022 and announced in the following month that it was entering liquidation due to negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on its business. [10] [11] [12]

SN Brussels Airlines (SNBA) was the flag carrier of Belgium, which mainly operated from Brussels Airport. SNBA was the trading name of the Belgian airline Delta Air Transport. SNBA was a full-service airline, connecting Brussels with the rest of Europe. It also flew to Africa, continuing Sabena's extensive network there. The airline merged with Virgin Express into Brussels Airlines which started operations on 25 March 2007. The airline had its head office in Airport Building 117 in Brussels Airport, Zaventem, near Brussels.

The British Aerospace 146 is a short-haul and regional airliner that was manufactured in the United Kingdom by British Aerospace, later part of BAE Systems. Production ran from 1983 until 2001. Avro International Aerospace manufactured an improved version known as the Avro RJ. Production for the Avro RJ version began in 1992. Later on, a further-improved version with new engines, the Avro RJX, was announced in 1997, but only two prototypes and one production aircraft were built before production ceased in 2001. With 387 aircraft produced, the Avro RJ/BAe 146 is the most successful British civil jet airliner program.
Dan-Air was an airline based in the United Kingdom and a wholly owned subsidiary of London-based shipbroking firm Davies and Newman. It was started in 1953 with a single aircraft. Initially, it operated cargo and passenger charter flights from Southend (1953–1955) and Blackbushe airports (1955–1960) using a variety of piston-engined aircraft before moving to a new base at Gatwick Airport in 1960, followed by expansion into inclusive tour (IT) charter flights and all-year round scheduled services. The introduction of two de Havilland Comet series 4 jet aircraft in 1966 made Dan-Air the second British independent airline after British United Airways to begin sustained jet operations.
