The 2018 Asian Games, officially known as the 18th Asian Games and also known as Jakarta-Palembang 2018 or Indonesia 2018, was a continental multi-sport event that was held from 18 August to 2 September 2018 in Jakarta and Palembang.
Pencak silat competition at the 2018 Asian Games was held in Jakarta, Indonesia from 23 to 29 August 2018 at Pencak Silat Arena (Padepokan) inside the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah in East Jakarta. This sport is popular in Southeast Asia. Hosts Indonesia won 14 out of the 16 gold medals, and Vietnam won the remaining two.
Rugby sevens at the 2018 Asian Games was held over three days from 30 August to 1 September 2018. This was the sixth appearance of rugby sevens at the Asian Games. The Games was planned to be held at the Wibawa Mukti Stadium in Bekasi but then moved to Rugby Field inside the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex.
