Jugaad Motion Pictures is an Indian film and media production company established in 2016. It was founded by Dar Gai and Dheer Momaya, and later joined by Pranit Sahni. [1] The company specializes in the production of feature films, music videos, and television-OTT commercials. Some of critically acclaimed and commercially successful feature films such as Last Film Show, and Namdev Bhau: In Search of Silence. [2]
Jugaad Motion Pictures is a film production company founded by Ukrainian-Indian film director Dar Gai, and Dheer Momaya. [3] Established in 2016, the company made its feature film debut with "Teen Aur Aadha" in 2018. [4] Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film is notable for its three 40-minute-long takes, each set in a different era but filmed within the same house. "Teen Aur Aadha" was selected for 40 international film festivals and received 18 awards. [5]
They produced the music video "cold/mess" for Prateek Kuhad in 2018, which was named Best Music Video of the Year by Rolling Stone India and won a Radio City Freedom Award for Best Video. [6] [7] The following year, they produced Ritviz's music videos "Liggi" and "Sage", the latter of which was also chosen as Music Video of the Year by Rolling Stone India. [8] [6]
That same year, Jugaad Motion Pictures released "Namdev Bhau: In Search of Silence," which premiered at the Busan International Film Festival. [9] The film subsequently screened at the BFI London Film Festival, MAMI, DIFF (as the opening film), IFFI, Palm Springs, and Goteborg Film Festival. Lead actor Namdev Gurav was nominated for Best Actor at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
They produced a web-series, with RITVIZ, titled "Cabin Fever" in 2020. [10] [11] In 2021, Jugaad Motion Pictures produced "Last Film Show," directed by Pan Nalin. This film was selected as India's entry for Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards, where it was shortlisted. It was also the first Indian film in 22 years to be shortlisted for Oscars. However, It failed to get nominated. [12] It also won Best Feature Film in Gujarati and Best Child Artist (for Bhavin Rabari) at the 69th National Film Awards. [13] [14] Furthermore, "Last Film Show" received the Golden Spike Award for Best Picture at the 66th Valladolid International Film Festival. [15] Siddharth Roy Kapur's Roy Kapur Films and PVR Pictures partnered to distribute the film in India, where it was released theatrically in October 2022. [16]
Later in 2021, They produced the promotional content video song for Netflix India, titled ‘Money Heist Anthem’ for two-part series finale of Money Heist. [17]
In 2024, It produced several commercial projects, including the Adidas Teen Ka Dream campaign for the Cricket World Cup and JioCinema's "Dum Laga Ke Haisha" film for the Olympic Games Paris 2024. [18]
