Juventude Futebol Clube or Juventude do Fogo is a football (soccer) club that currently plays in the Fogo Island League in Cape Verde. It is based in the city of São Filipe in the west of the island. The club was founded by young people from the island of Fogo.

Cape Verde or Cabo Verde, officially the Republic of Cabo Verde, is an island country spanning an archipelago of 10 volcanic islands in the central Atlantic Ocean. It forms part of the Macaronesia ecoregion, along with the Azores, Canary Islands, Madeira, and the Savage Isles. In ancient times these islands were referred to as "the Islands of the Blessed" or the "Fortunate Isles". Located 570 kilometres (350 mi) west of the Cape Verde Peninsula off the coast of Northwest Africa, the islands cover a combined area of slightly over 4,000 square kilometres (1,500 sq mi).

São Filipe is a city on the west coast of the island of Fogo, Cape Verde. It is the capital of the island, and the seat of the São Filipe Municipality. The island's airport, São Filipe Airport, is located on the southeastern edge of the town and the island's port is 4 km north of the center at Vale de Cavaleiros. The town's elevation is 20 meters.

History

In recent years, the club finished last place for the 2014-15 season and with 3 wins, 14 losses, conceded 50 goals and had 10 points. Juventude spent only a season in that division and became first place in the final phase and defeated ABC de Patim to qualify straight into the Premier Division for the 2015-16 season. In the 2015-16 season, Juventude suffered a defeat on January 30 when they lost 10-3 to Mosteiros' Cutelinho; the club was finished second to last and had three wins again and two draws, they had 13 losses, Juventude scored 23 goals and conceded 58 goals and had 11 points. Juventude played two promotional matches, they won their first match over Atlético Mosteiros on May 29 and lost the second match, with three goals each, it went into the penalty shootout on June 5 and defeated Atlético 4-2. Juventude stayed in the Premier Division for the 2016-17 season. No success were made for the club, the season was a worst one and had only three points, the club had no win but a draw, they scored 18 goals and conceded 72 goals, one of the highest in island history. Their worst match of the season was at the 16th round on April 8 where they lost to Vulcânicos 10-0.

Cutelinho Futebol Clube is a professional football club that currently plays in the Fogo Island League in Cape Verde. It is based in the village of Mosteiros in the northeastern part of the island and plays in the stadium with a capacity of 1000. Its current manager is Amarildo Baessa. Its nickname is leoninhos which means little lions in Portuguese. On September 2, 1996, the team faced Desportivo de Cova Figueira for the first time and defeated that club 3-1 in the opening tournament.

On December 9, Juventude lost to Parque Real in the first round of the Fogo Cup and was out from further competition. They started their 2017-18 Second Division season with their planned return as they planned to be in the top two Group A clubs, instead they Juventude had the first two losses at the third round. Juventude made a two goal draw with Brasilim, currently their last betore they made their only win over Atlàntico on February 3. Their remaining matches ended in losses and entlrely lost a chance of ever returning to the Premier Division. Juventude was last in the group, their last meeting was with Atlântico, Juventude suffered an 0-3 loss, they finished last place and Juventude will spend their second straight season in the Second Division.

Juventude plays at Estádio 5 de Julho with a capacity of 1,000. The club also trains at the stadium. Other clubs playing at the stadium includes Académica do Fogo, Botafogo, Vulcânicos and the least prominent club Atlântico. Clubs based in a city subdivision includes Spartak d'Aguadinha, Brasilim of Monte Vaca and Nova Era FC of the east of the city. Other clubs playing at the stadium but not based are ABC de Patim, União FC from São Lourenço and Valência from As Hortas.
