Roskilde is a city 30 km (19 mi) west of Copenhagen on the Danish island of Zealand. With a population of 52,974, the city is a business and educational centre for the region and the 10th largest city in Denmark. It is governed by the administrative council of Roskilde Municipality.
Hundested is a town with a population of 8,538 and a former municipality in Region Hovedstaden in the northern part of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark.
Faaborg or Fåborg is an old port town located on Faaborg Fjord in Faaborg-Midtfyn municipality on the island of Funen in Denmark. By road, Faaborg is located 42 kilometres (26 mi) southwest of Odense, 27 kilometres (17 mi) west-northwest of Svendborg, and roughly 70 kilometres (43 mi) southeast of Middelfart, depending upon the route. It has a population of 6,867. With its busy port, narrow streets and attractive old houses, the town is popular with tourists, particularly in the summer months. Faaborg was formerly the seat of Faaborg municipality. The seat of the new municipality is Ringe. Both municipalities use(d) Faaborg's medieval coat of arms.
Haslev is a railway town in the southern part of the island of Zealand, Denmark, located about 60 km (37 mi) southwest of Copenhagen. It has a population of 12,488, and is the largest town in Faxe Municipality in Region Zealand.
Tune is a town in Greve Municipality, located 5 km southeast of Roskilde and 26 km southwest of Copenhagen City Hall Square, in metropolitan Copenhagen, Denmark. It is mainly known for its airport. As of 2024, the town has a population of 5,517.
Hedehusene is a suburban town located on the rail line between Copenhagen and Roskilde in the Capital Region of Denmark. It has absorbed the villages of Baldersbrønde and Fløng and almost merged with Roskilde's eastern Trekroner neighbourhood to the west and Høje Taastrup to the east. To the south is the large recreational area Hedeland. As of 1 January 2024, the town had a population of 16,049. A large development project, NærHeden, created as a collaboration between Høje-Taastrup Municipality and Realdania, will expand the town to the southeast with a new sustainable neighbourhood.
Fredensborg is a railway town located in Fredensborg Municipality, North Zealand, some 30 kilometres north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is most known for Fredensborg Palace, one of the official residences of the Danish royal family. As of 1 January 2024, the town had a population of 8,925.
Dragør is the main town of Dragør Municipality, (Denmark), which includes the village of Store Magleby. The city hall and seat of the municipal council lies on Kirkevej 7 in Store Magleby, which has enough space for such a large building.
Glostrup is a Danish town in Region Hovedstaden, forming one of the western suburbs of Copenhagen. It is the administrative seat of Glostrup Municipality, with an estimated population of 23,540 as of 2024.
Lynge is a town in the western part of Allerød Municipality, North Zealand, some 30 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Today Lynge has grown together with the neighbouring village of Uggeløse into a small urban area with a population of 4,123.
Værløse is a town in Furesø Municipality in the northwestern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark. As of 1 January 2024, it has a population of 13,248. Situated on the west side of the Hillerød Motorway, between Farum Lake to the north and Søndersø Lake to the south, it is surrounded by forest on three sides. Modern Værløse emerged around Værløse station in the 1950s. The original centre of the parish was the village of Kirke Værløse, located three kilometres to the west. The two communities have now almost merged.
North Zealand, also North Sealand, refers to the northern part of the island of Zealand in Denmark proper that is not clearly defined but generally covers the area north of Copenhagen. The Danish tourist authorities have recently introduced the term Danish Riviera to cover the area in view of its increasing importance for tourism. The area has three royal castles and offers resorts with beaches, as well as lakes and forests. In addition to Kronborg Castle, three of the North Zealand forest areas used for royal par force hunting are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Liseleje is a former fishing village and popular tourist resort in Halsnæs Municipality, North Zealand, some 60 kilometres northwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. The original village is surrounded by extensive areas of summerhouses. It has merged with neighbouring Asserbo, forming an urban area with a combined population of 2,470.
Havdrup is a small railway town straddling the boundary between Solrød and Roskilde municipalities, some 30 km southwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. Havdrup station serves the Little South railway line between Roskilde and Køge. Havdrup had a population of 4,426. The original village, now known as Gammel Havdrup, is located about 3 km to the east of the modern railway town.
Skovshoved is a former fishing village on the Øresund coast north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The area is part of Charlottenlund postal district and Gentofte Municipality. Local landmarks include Skovshoved Church, Skovshoved Hotel and the listed Arne Jacobsen-designed Skovshoved Petrol Station from 1938.
Svogerslev is a small satellite town located four kilometres west of Roskilde, Denmark. The original village features a village pond, a Romanesque church, one of the smallest in Denmark, and a number of old farm buildings. The historic centre is surrounded by large developments of single family detached homes. As of 1 January 2024, it had a population of 4,277.

Viby, often referred to as Viby Sjælland to distinguish it from Viby J in Jutland, is a satellite and commuter town to Roskilde and Copenhagen, located 8 km south of Roskilde, in Roskilde Municipality, some 30 km west of Copenhagen, Denmark. The original village, now Gammel Viby, is located in the northern part of town while the modern district has formed around Viby railway station which opened on the Danish Main Line between Copenhagen and western Denmark in 1854. The village of Dåstrup is now also an integrated part of Viby. As of 1 January 2024, Viby had a population of 4,881.
