K. Sapdanga (born 1958) is an Indian politician and a journalist who is elected as a Member of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly in December 2023 from Aizawl North 3 Assembly constituency. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] He is a Cabinet Minister under the Zoram People's Movement government led by Lalduhoma, as Chief Minister. [1] with the following portfolios allocated to him - Home Department, Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation Department, Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms and Disaster Management & Rehabilitation Department. [6] He is the working president of Zoram People's Movement. [7]
K. Sapdanga is also the Editor and Publisher of Vanglaini, [8] the newspaper with the largest circulation in Mizoram, he is also the co-founder of Zonet cable TV. [9]
Zoram Nationalist Party is a political party in Mizoram, India. The party was formerly known as Mizo National Front (Nationalist). It was founded by former MP Lalduhoma. MNF(N) was formed in 1997 through a split in the Mizo National Front.
Lalduhoma is an Indian politician who serves as the 6th Chief Minister of Mizoram since 8 December 2023. Formerly an Indian Police Service officer, he resigned from the security service to the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, and was elected as Member of Parliament to the Lok Sabha from Mizoram and President of the Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee in 1984. He however left the party from which he was elected two years later, for which he was disqualified from the Parliament. He became the first MP in India to be discharged based upon its anti-defection law.
