Kai Jagoda (born 6 September 2000) is a German international competitive figure skater. He is the 2024 German national gold medalist. [1]

Personal life

Jagoda studied psychology at the Humboldt University of Berlin until 2021. Since relocating to Oberstdorf, he has continued his studies via distance learning at the IU International University. [2] [3]

Career

Jagoda began figure skating in 2004. He is a member of the Skating Club of Berlin. Since 2021 he has been training in Oberstdorf with Michael Huth and Robert Dierking.

Jagoda finished fourth at the German Championships in 2020. In 2022 and 2023, He twice won the silver medal (in 2022 and 2023) before winning the gold medal in 2024.

Jagoda also represents Germany internationally. He was nominated for the German team for the 2021 Winter Universiade, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [4] [5] Two years later, he competed at the 2023 Winter World University Games in Lake Placid, New York, where he finished thirteenth.

The Prague Skate is an international figure skating competition. It was a senior event from the 1960s to 1997, usually held in November or December in Prague. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, and pair skating. Since 1999, it is organized in some years as part of the ISU Junior Grand Prix series.

The 2016–17 figure skating season began on July 1, 2016, and ended on June 30, 2017. During this season, elite skaters competed at the 2017 European Championships, Four Continents Championships, World Junior Championships, and World Championships. Figure skating at the 2023 Winter World University Games was held on January 13–15 at the Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, New York, United States. Medals were awarded in men's singles, women's singles and ice dance.

The 2023 German Figure Skating Championships were held on January 5–7, 2023 at the Eissportzentrum Oberstdorf in Oberstdorf. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles and ladies' singles on the senior level and pair skating and ice dance on the senior, junior, and novice levels. Single skating competitions on the junior and novice levels were held on December 16-18, 2022 at the Eissportzentrum Oberstdorf in Oberstdorf.
