Figure skating is a part of the FISU World University Games. It was first held as part of the Universiade in 1960. Medals may be awarded in men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, ice dancing, and synchronized skating.

The FISU World University Games, formerly the Universiade, is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The former name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad".
Miwa Fukuhara is a Japanese former competitive figure skater. She is a two-time Winter Universiade champion and a six-time Japanese national champion. She finished 21st in the 1960 Winter Olympic Games, and 5th in the 1964 Winter Olympic Games.
The Merano Cup was an annual international figure skating competition which is generally held in November in Merano, Italy. Medals were awarded in men's singles, women's singles, and pair skating at the senior, junior, and novice levels. The competition was last held in 2017.
The Croatian Figure Skating Championships are held annually to determine the national champions of Croatia. Skaters compete in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance at the senior, junior, and novice levels, although not every discipline is held every year due to a lack of participants. The event is organized by Croatian Skating Federation, the sport's national governing body.
Günter Anderl was an Austrian figure skater who competed in men's singles. He was the 1968 Winter Universiade bronze medalist, 1969 Nebelhorn Trophy champion, and a three-time Austrian national champion (1969–1971). He competed at two Winter Olympics, in 1968 and 1972.
Winter Universiade 2017, the XXVIII Winter Universiade, was a multi-sport winter event which took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan from 29 January to 8 February 2017. On 29 November 2011, FISU announced that Winter Universiade 2017 would be hosted in Almaty.
Choi Da-bin is a South Korean figure skater. She is the 2017 Asian Winter Games champion and a 5-time South Korean national medalist. She has placed in the top ten at the 2018 Winter Olympics, the 2017 World Championships, the Four Continents Championships. Earlier in her career, she won two bronze medals during the 2015–16 ISU Junior Grand Prix series in Austria and Latvia. She has placed in the top ten at the World Junior Championships.
Alexander Konstantinovich Tikhomirov is a Russian former pair skater who represented the Soviet Union. With Lyudmila Suslina, he is the 1968 Winter Universiade bronze medalist. The pair also won silver at the 1967 Blue Swords, silver at the 1967 Prize of Moscow News, and gold at the 1968 Blue Swords.
Anton Yuryevich Smirnov is a Russian former competitive figure skater. He won two medals in the 2000–01 ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) series – gold in France and bronze in Norway – and qualified for the JGP Final in Ayr, Scotland, where he finished 7th. As a senior, he won silver at the 2003 Winter Universiade and bronze at the 2003 Skate Israel. Coaches were: Marina Kolyushok, Svetlana Derbina, Julia Kulibanova, Galina Kashina Saint Petersburg, Rafael Arutyunyan Moscow.

Györgyi Korda is a Hungarian former ice dancer. With Pál Vásárhelyi, she is the 1964 Winter Universiade champion, the 1964 Blue Swords champion, and a seven-time Hungarian national champion. The duo competed at four World and six European Championships. They placed among the European top five in 1963, 1964, and 1965.
Pál Vásárhelyi was a Hungarian competitive ice dancer. With Györgyi Korda, he was the 1964 Winter Universiade champion, the 1964 Blue Swords champion, and a seven-time Hungarian national champion. The duo competed at four World and six European Championships. They placed among the European top five in 1963, 1964, and 1965.
Cha Young-hyun is a South Korean figure skater and a tightrope dancer (eoreum-sani) of Namsadang. He is the 2017 South Korean national junior champion and the 2021 South Korean national bronze medalist.
Lin Xiaojun, born Lim Hyo-jun, is a South Korean-born Chinese short track speed skater. He is the 2018 champion of the Men's 1500 m event in short track speed skating at the Winter Olympics, and also set the new Olympic record for the event. Originally starting as a swimmer, Lim took up skating at a young age. Despite multiple injuries early on in his career, he notably won gold at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics upon his international debut in the Boys' 1000 m event. He would later win the 1000 m and 1500 m events in the Budapest leg of the 2017–18 ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Cup and earn selection for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. Upon his Olympic debut, Lim won the gold medal, setting a new Olympic record of 2:10.485 in the process, beating Lee Jung-su's previous record set at the 2010 games.
Pietro Papetti is an Italian ice dancer who currently competes with Leia Dozzi. With Dozzi, he is a two-time Italian national bronze medalist (2024–25). With his former skating partner, Chiara Calderone, he is the 2019 Egna Dance Trophy silver medalist and 2018 Open d'Andorra bronze medalist. Earlier in their career, Calderone/Papetti won the Italian national junior title and placed 13th at the 2018 World Junior Championships.
Adrien Tesson is a French figure skater. He is the 2018 International Challenge Cup champion, 2017 Ice Challenge bronze medalist, 2014 NRW Trophy bronze medalist, and 2019 French national bronze medalist.
The 2025 FISU Winter World University Games, also known as the XXXII Winter World University Games, or the 32nd Winter Universiade, and commonly known as Turin 2025 or Torino 2025, is a ongoing multi-sport event ran from 13–23 January 2025, in Turin, Italy. The Piedmontese capital was confirmed as the host city for the games on 15 May 2021. This was the 12th time that the World University Games has been held in Italy, the 7th time that the Winter Games were held in Italy, and the 2nd time in the city, as the city previously hosted the 2007 Games. The city is considered the birthplace of the event, as it hosted the first summer Games in 1959 and again in 1970, becoming the first city to host summer and winter editions of the World University Games. If the summer editions are counted, this is the 12th time that the World University Games have been held on Italian soil, as the most recent were the 2019 Games held in Naples.
