Short-track speed skating is a form of competitive ice speed skating. In competitions, multiple skaters skate on an oval ice track with a length of 111.111 metres (364.54 ft). The rink itself is 60 metres (196.85 ft) long by 30 metres (98.43 ft) wide, which is the same size as an Olympic-sized figure skating rink and an international-sized ice hockey rink. Related sports include long-track speed skating and inline speed skating.

The FIBA Men's World Ranking, are FIBA's rankings of national basketball teams. FIBA ranks both men's and women's national teams for both senior and junior competitions. It also publishes combined rankings for all mixed-sex competitions. Not included are the rankings for three-on-three competitions, which are tabulated for individual players.
Figure skating is a part of the FISU World University Games. It was first held as part of the Universiade in 1960. Medals may be awarded in men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, ice dancing, and synchronized skating.
Water polo has been part of the Universiade program since the first games, in 1959. A women's water polo tournament was introduced for the 2009 Summer Universiade. Water polo was not included in 1975 and 1989.
Curling has been a part of the Winter Universiade since it was featured was optional sport in the 2003 Winter Universiade in Tarvisio. It became a compulsory sport as of the 2007 Winter Universiade in Turin.

The BWF World Ranking is the official ranking of the Badminton World Federation for badminton players who participate in tournaments sanctioned by Badminton World Federation. It is used to determine the qualification for the World Championships and Summer Olympic Games, as well as BWF World Tour tournaments. Seedings of draws at all BWF-sanctioned tournaments are conducted using the BWF World Ranking. The Ivy League men's basketball tournament is the postseason conference tournament in men's basketball for the Ivy League. It was first held in 2017, and is held alongside the Ivy women's tournament, also introduced in 2017, at the same venue. The overall event is currently marketed as Ivy Madness. The Ivy League was the last NCAA Division I conference without a postseason tournament.

Ice hockey at the 2025 Winter World University Games comprised two ice hockey tournaments – a men's tournament and a women's tournament – during the Torino 2025 edition of the FISU World University Games. Both tournaments began on 11 January 2025. The women's tournament was hosted in Torino, Italy, and the men's tournament was hosted in Pinerolo, Torre Pellice, and Torino, Italy.
