Figure skating at the 2019 Winter Universiade was held on March 7-9 at the Platinum Arena in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Medals were awarded in men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, ice dancing, and synchronized skating.

Regulations

Skaters who were born between 1 January 1994 and 31 December 2001 are eligible to compete at the Winter Universiade if they are registered as proceeding towards a degree or diploma at a university or similar institute, or obtained their academic degree or diploma in the year preceding the event. [1]

In pairs and ice dance, only one partner must be a citizen of the country for which they are competing. [1] Each nation may send a maximum of three entries per discipline, except synchronized skating for which the maximum is two teams. [1]

The World Figure Skating Championships, commonly referred to as "Worlds", are an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Generally held in March, the World Championships are considered the most prestigious of the ISU Figure Skating Championships. With the exception of the Olympic title, a world title is considered to be the highest competitive achievement in figure skating.

The 2019 Winter Universiade, the XXIX Universiade, was a multi-sport event for student and youth athletes which took place from 2 to 12 March 2019 in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk. The 2019 Winter Universiade was the third Universiade hosted in Russia and second as an independent country. The first Universiade, when Russia was a Soviet Republic, was hosted by Moscow in 1973, whereas Kazan, capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, hosted the 2013 Summer Universiade. It is the first Winter Universiade hosted by Russia, and the second time that the event was held in a former USSR republic.

The 2015 Russian Figure Skating Championships was held from 24 to 28 December 2014 in Sochi. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The results were among the criteria used to select Russia's teams sent to the 2015 World Championships and 2015 European Championships.

Figure skating at the 2017 Winter Universiade was held on February 1–5 at the Almaty Arena in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Medals were awarded in men's singles, ladies' singles, and ice dancing.

The 2020 Russian Figure Skating Championships were held from 24 to 29 December 2019 in Krasnoyarsk. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The results were among the criteria used to select the Russian teams for the 2020 European Championships and 2020 World Championships.

The 2020 World Junior Figure Skating Championships were held in Tallinn, Estonia on March 2–8, 2020. Figure skaters competed for the title of junior world champion in men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dance. The competition determined the entry quotas for each federation during the 2020–21 ISU Junior Grand Prix series and at the 2021 World Junior Championships.

Victoria Manni is an Italian ice dancer who previously competed for Switzerland. With her skating partner, Carlo Röthlisberger, she is the 2016 Santa Claus Cup bronze medalist, four-time Swiss national champion and a two-time Italian national silver medalist (2023–24). They competed in the final segment at the 2020 European Championships.

Carlo Röthlisberger is an Italo-swiss ice dancer who competes for Italy. With his skating partner, Victoria Manni, he is the 2016 Santa Claus Cup bronze medalist, a four-time Swiss national champion, and a two-time Italian national silver medalist (2023-24). They competed in the final segment at the 2020 European Championships.

The 2021–22 ISU Junior Grand Prix was a series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union that were held from August 2021 through December 2021. It was the junior-level complement to the 2021–22 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Medals were awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Skaters earned points based on their placement at each event and the top six in each discipline qualified to compete at the 2021–22 Junior Grand Prix Final in Osaka, Japan. Ultimately, the Grand Prix Final was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Figure skaters competed for the title of world champion in men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dance. The competition was used to determine the entry quotas for each federation at the 2022 World Championships and was the first qualification event for the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Figure skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held at the Capital Indoor Stadium in Beijing, China. The five events took place between 4 and 20 February 2022.

Figure skating at the 2023 Winter World University Games was held on January 13–15 at the Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, New York, United States. Medals were awarded in men's singles, women's singles and ice dance.
