Kalahari Constituency is an electoral constituency in the Omaheke Region of eastern central Namibia. It had 9,234 inhabitants in 2004. [1] The constituency covers the rural area east of Gobabis as well as Gobabis' Nossobville suburb. [2] The constituency office has been inaugurated in 2009 and is located at the Ben-Hur settlement. [3] The constituency forms part of the border between Namibia and Botswana.
In the 2004 election, 4541 residents were registered voters; 4011 (88%) of registered voters cast valid ballots. Hifikepunye Pohamba of SWAPO Party received 2312 total votes (58%), followed by Katuutire Kaura of the Democratic Turnhalle Alliance (DTA, 11%), Henk Mudge of the Republican Party (RP, 9%), Kuaima Riruako of the National Unity Democratic Organisation (NUDO, 8%), Ben Ulenga of the Congress of Democrats (CoD, 5%), Justus ǁGaroëb of the United Democratic Front (UDF, 4%) and Kosie Pretorius of the Monitor Action Group (MAG, 4%). [4] Steve Mogotsi of SWAPO was elected to the Omaheke Regional Council. The constituency had previously elected a DTA member in 1992 and 1998. [5]
The 2015 regional election was again won by SWAPO. Ignatius Kariseb gained 1,522 votes, followed by Johannes Baumakwe (DTA) with 630 votes. [6]
Omaheke is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia, its capital is Gobabis. It lies in eastern Namibia on the border to Botswana and is the western extension of the Kalahari desert. The self-governed villages of Otjinene, Leonardville and Witvlei are situated in the region. As of 2020, Omaheke had 48,594 registered voters.
Gobabis is a city in eastern Namibia. It is the regional capital of the Omaheke Region, and the district capital of the Gobabis electoral constituency. Gobabis is situated 200 km (120 mi) down the B6 motorway from Windhoek to Botswana. The town is 113 km (70 mi) from the Buitepos border post with Botswana, and serves as an important link to South Africa on the tarred Trans-Kalahari Highway. Gobabis is in the heart of the cattle farming area. In fact Gobabis is so proud of its cattle farming that a statue of a large Brahman bull with the inscription "Cattle Country" greets visitors to the town. Gobabis also has its own local Airport.
Katima Mulilo Urban is a constituency in the Zambezi Region of Namibia, covering the capital city of the region, Katima Mulilo. As of 2020, the constituency had 13,860 registered voters.
Katima Mulilo Rural is a constituency in the Zambezi Region of Namibia. It comprises the area south of the town of Katima Mulilo, the regional capital. As of 2020, the constituency had 6,712 registered voters.
Keetmanshoop Urban is a constituency in the ǁKaras Region of Namibia. It comprises the city of Keetmanshoop, except the Krönlein suburb. It had a population of 19,447 in 2011, up from 15,777 in 2001. As of 2020 the constituency had 12,569 registered voters, up from 11,534 in 2019.
Keetmanshoop Rural is an electoral constituency in the ǁKaras Region of Namibia. It contains the Krönlein suburb of Keetmanshoop and the villages of Koës and Aroab, the settlements of Seeheim and Klein Karas, as well as several farming communities in the area. The constituency office is situated in Aroab. It had a populations of 7,219 in 2011, up from 6,399 in 2001. As of 2020 the constituency had 6,398 registered voters.
Samora Machel Constituency is a constituency in Windhoek in the Khomas Region of central Namibia. The constituency is located across four northern suburbs of Windhoek: Wanaheda, Greenwell Matongo, Goreangab, and part of Havana. It had a population of 50,110 in 2011, up from 29,382 in 2001. As of 2020 it had 45,962 registered voters.
Katutura Central is a constituency in the Khomas Region of Namibia, comprising the extensions 2–5 and 7–11 of Windhoek's suburb Katutura. Katutura is a township that was founded by the then apartheid government of Namibia for black people in the 1950s, when the previous township, Old Location, was converted into the suburb Hochland Park.

Stefanus "Steve" Orateng Mogotsi is a Namibian politician and former featherweight boxer. A member of SWAPO, Mogotsi won a seat in the Regional Council of Omaheke Region in 2004. He was subsequently selected to the 3rd National Council of Namibia. The seat, representing Kalahari Constituency, had been held by the Democratic Turnhalle Alliance since 1992.
Otjombinde Constituency is an electoral constituency in the Omaheke Region of Namibia. It had 6,378 inhabitants in 2004. The district capital of the constituency is the settlement of Otjombinde, its main economic hub is Talismanus. The constituency forms part of the border between Namibia and Botswana, it contains the settlements of Eiseb, Helena, and Rietfontein.
Okorukambe Constituency, until 2013 Steinhausen Constituency, is an electoral constituency in the Omaheke Region of Namibia. It has 9,066 inhabitants. Its district capital is the settlement of Steinhausen. It further contains the settlements of Witvlei and Omitara.
Gobabis Constituency is an electoral constituency in the Omaheke Region of Namibia. As of December 2019 it had 13,457 registered voters. Its district capital is the town of Gobabis.
Okahandja Constituency is an electoral constituency in the Otjozondjupa Region of Namibia. It has 18,155 inhabitants and consists of the town of Okahandja and the surrounding rural area.
Otjinene is a village in the Omaheke Region of Namibia. It is the district capital of Otjinene Constituency. Otjinene is connected via a 157 kilometres (98 mi) tarred road to the regional capital Gobabis, and via a 227 kilometres (141 mi) road which was tarred in 2017 from Otjinene to Grootfontein.
