One of the highest paid actress of Punjabi cinema, Bajwa started her career in 1998 with Dev Anand's Bollywood film Main Solah Baras Ki and then moved on to working in Hindi television and Punjabi films.

The film got positive reviews from critics but was a commercially unsuccessful. Harjeeta won two National Film Awards for Best Punjabi Film and Best Child Actor (Ranaut).

The film follows two police officers on a mission in the UK, both secretly in love but believing their feelings are unreciprocated, leading them to try to make the other confess first. The film was a major success and emerged as the 2nd highest grossing Punjabi film of all time.

His next film as a director is a Hindi film Son of Sardaar 2, an action-comedy sequel to Son of Sardaar, scheduled for release in May 2025.
