Anita Devgan is an Indian film and television actress, who is known for her work in the Punjabi film industry. Early life and education

Anita grew up in Amritsar, Punjab, India. She done her schooling and college from Government Middle School, Chicha, Amritsar and Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar Punjab University, Patiala, India. [8] After completion of her college study she acquired her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Master in Arts (M.A.) from Punjab University, Patiala, India.[ citation needed ]

Career

Anita is a theatre performer from Punjab who works in the Punjabi film industry. [9] [10] She began acting through a TV program on DD Punjabi called "Hakim Tara Chand". Hashar (2008), a love story was her first Punjabi film, and she has since appeared in more than 40 films in supporting roles. Additionally, she received the Virasat International Punjabi Film Award and the Best Supporting Actress PTC Punjabi Film Award. [11]

Her most famous films include Jatt & Juliet (2012, 2013), R.S.V.P., Angrej (2015), Bambukat (2016), Rabb Da Radio (2017, 2019), Golak Bugni Bank Te Batua (2018), Mr. & Mrs. 420 Returns (2018), Puaada (2021), and Ni Main Sass Kuttni (2022). In the film Ni Main Sass Kuttni, she appeared with actors Nirmal Rishi, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjit Anmol, and Mehtab Virk in a lead role.[ citation needed ]

<i>Jatt & Juliet</i> 2012 Indian film

Jatt & Juliet is an Indian Punjabi-language romantic comedy film directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Darshan Singh Grewal and Gunbir Singh Sidhu. The film stars Diljit Dosanjh opposite Neeru Bajwa. It was released to theaters on 29 June 2012. Upon release, the film became a massive blockbuster at the box office and also won multiple awards at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2013 including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress. The film also spawned a sequel the following year, titled Jatt & Juliet 2 featuring most of the same cast and crew. The sequel also broke records at the box office, and ended up becoming the highest-grossing Punjabi film ever. It was remade in Bengali in 2014 as Bangali Babu English Mem.

<i>Jatt & Juliet 2</i> 2013 Indian romantic comedy film

Jatt & Juliet 2 is a 2013 Indian Punjabi romance comedy film directed by Anurag Singh. The film is a sequel to the 2012 blockbuster Jatt & Juliet, however not directly or story-wise. Actors Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa reprise their roles from the previous film in the sequel amongst other characters. The film released on 28 June 2013, almost a year after the release of the prequel, and received a positive response at the box office. Jatt & Juliet 2 went on to become the highest-grossing Punjabi film ever, thus beating the record previously held by the first Jatt & Juliet film. Jatt and Juliet 2 is the first ever Punjabi movie to be released on Blu-ray. The movie was remade in Bengali in 2018 as Inspector Notty K.

Puaada (transl. Problem) is a 2021 Indian Punjabi-language romantic comedy produced by A&A Pictures and Brat Films, directed by debutant director Rupinder Chahal, starring Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa in lead roles. The film follows the love story of a Punjabi village boy, running a dairy farm who is in a relationship with Raunak, an air force officer's daughter and the comedy of errors and confusion that happens the day their match is to be arranged. It was scheduled to be released on 2 April 2021, but due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the release date was postponed. The film finally released theatrically on 12 August 2021 to coincide with Independence day week in India.

Kamaldeep Singh Dhaliwal, commonly known as Hobby Dhaliwal is an Indian film actor, singer, and politician. He is known for his works in Punjabi and Hindi films. Dhaliwal began his career by debut movie Burrraahh in 2012. The films Angrej (2015), Lahoriye (2017), Jora 10 Numbaria (2017), and Ardaas Karaan (2019) are among his best known works.
