Kami nAPO Muna is a tribute album to the 1970s Filipino musical group, APO Hiking Society. Released in 2006, the album features covers of APO Hiking Society songs, performed by a number of Filipino bands and artists. It was followed by a second tribute album, Kami nAPO Muna ULIT , in 2007.
The album's title, Kami nAPO Muna, loosely translates to "our turn now" in Filipino; the phrase is also a play on the name Apo. APO Hiking Society itself has used the word nAPO (na pô, the respectful form of "already") in many concerts, as well as on a noontime variety show. [2]
A tribute concert sponsored by MYX Music Channel was held during the launch of the album, in honour of the trio's contributions to OPM Music. [3] A two-disc limited edition set of Kami nAPO Muna has been released, with the second disc containing Apo Hiking Society's original versions of the tribute tracks. The album is considered the biggest-selling album of 2006 in the Philippines, with 4× Platinum Certification (i.e., more than 125,000 copies sold) in less than six months. It also garnered Awit Awards' Bestselling Album of the Year for 2007. [4] [5] [6]

Parokya ni Edgar is a Filipino band formed in 1993, composed of Chito Miranda, Gab Chee Kee, Buwi Meneses, Darius Semaña, Dindin Moreno, and Vinci Montaner. The band is known for its original rock novelty songs and often satirical covers of popular songs both foreign and local. The band is adept at playing in various musical genres.

The Apolinario Mabini Hiking Society, later popularly known as APO Hiking Society, or simply APO, were a Filipino musical group, that comprised Danny Javier, Jim Paredes, and Boboy Garrovillo. They are regarded as one of the pillars and icons of Original Pilipino Music (OPM). The group was formed and had its fledgling beginnings in 1969 at the Ateneo de Manila High School, with 15 members: John Paul Micayabas, Lito de Joya, Sonny Santiago, Gus Cosio, Renato Garcia, Chito Kintanar, Kenny Barton, Bruce Brown, Butch Dans, Kinjo Sawada, Ric Segreto Macaraeg, Goff Macaraeg, Doden Besa, Jim Paredes, Boboy Garrovillo, and the 16th member, Danny Javier, who joined in college. The group's name was created from the acronym AMHS representing their school with a witty twist having an irreverent reference to the Philippine revolutionary intellectual and hero, Apolinario Mabini, and later shortened to "Apo", an Ilocano term for a wise man or a Tagalog term of grandchildren, and later re-branded to "APO". Contrary to popular belief, the "Apo" name was not a reference to the Philippines's highest peak, the potentially-active stratovolcano Mount Apo.
