Kanti Baa (born 15 November 1979) is a member of the Indian women's hockey team and played with the team when it won the Gold at the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
Kaanti Baa was born on 15 November 1979 in Simdega district, Jharkhand. She attended school at Bariyatu Government Girls High.[ citation needed ]
She works for the Central Railway in Mumbai.[ citation needed ]
In her hockey career, she has competed in both domestic and international circuits. She made her first appearance at Australia 4 Nation Tournament in 1999.[ citation needed ] The most recent game played by Kanti was the Commonwealth in 2002. [1]
Fanny "Bobbie" Rosenfeld was a Canadian athlete, who won a gold medal for the 100-metre relay and a silver medal for the 100-metre at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam. She was a star at basketball, hockey, softball, and tennis; and was called Bobbie for her "bobbed" haircut. In 1949, named Rosenfeld the "Canadian woman athlete of the half-century." The Bobbie Rosenfeld Award is named in her honour. In 1996, she was inducted into the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame.

Pritam Rani Siwach is a former captain of the Indian women's hockey team. In 2008, she was recalled to join the team for the Olympic qualifiers in order to bring an "additional wealth of experience." After the team did not qualify for the Olympics, Siwach stated in an interview, "We are not that bad as the results would show. It was simply a case of missed chances [...] One difference between my times and now is the midfield. We had an experienced midfield with Sita Gussain at the centre. That helped us. Here, both T. H. Ranjita and Rosalind Ralte are young, just come into the team. They are potential youngsters, will only improve."

This win also marked a comeback for Mir Ranjan Negi who coached the team. Negi's involvement and the Gold inspired the successful 2007 Shahrukh Khan film about women's field hockey, Chak De India.
