Anne Meagher Northup is an American Republican politician and educator from the Commonwealth of Kentucky. From 1997 to 2007,she represented the Louisville-centered 3rd congressional district of Kentucky in the United States House of Representatives,where she served on the powerful House Appropriations Committee. She lost reelection to Democrat John Yarmuth in the 2006 election. She then ran for Governor of Kentucky,losing by 15 points to embattled governor Ernie Fletcher in the Republican primary election for the 2007 Kentucky gubernatorial election. Prior to her election to the United States House of Representatives,Northup had served in the Kentucky House of Representatives. Northup ran again for her old congressional seat in the 2008 election,losing again to Yarmuth.

It is currently the minority party in the state,as the rival Republican Party of Kentucky overwhelmingly dominates in the state legislature,congressional delegation,and presidential elections. However,the party does currently control the governorship and lieutenant governorship,and maintains some strength in local elections.
The Republican Party of Kentucky is the affiliate of the Republican Party in Kentucky and follows its nationally established platform. The party's headquarters is in Frankfort,Kentucky.

John Morgan McGarvey is an American attorney and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Kentucky's 3rd congressional district since 2023. A Democrat,he represented the 19th district in the Kentucky Senate from 2012 to 2023. Keturah Joy Herron is an American politician from Kentucky. They are a Democrat and represent District 42 in the State House. When elected in 2022,they were the first out LGBTQ+ member in the Kentucky House of Representatives. They are only the second out member of the Kentucky General Assembly following Ernesto Scorsone,former state senator,who came out while in office in 2003. After Scorsone left the legislature in 2008,there was no LGBTQ+ representation in either chamber until Herron.

Henry Berg-Brousseau was an American transgender rights activist. He came out as a transgender man at the beginning of his freshman year while attending Louisville Collegiate School. He attended the George Washington University and was a founding member of the Delta Lambda Phi Alpha chapter. He was the deputy press secretary for politics for the Human Rights Campaign.
Daniel Grossberg is an American politician who has served as a Democratic member of the Kentucky House of Representatives since January 2023. He represents Kentucky's 30th House district,which includes part of Louisville.
The 2024 Kentucky Senate election will be held on November 5,2024. The Republican and Democratic primary elections were held on May 21. Half of the senate was up for election. Following the 2022 election,Republicans and Democrats held 31 and seven seats,respectively. The deadline for candidates to file was January 5,2024.
