David P. Givens (born December 26,1966) is an American politician who has served in the Kentucky Senate from the 9th district since 2009. [1] [2] Givens was re-elected by the members of the Kentucky State Senate as the President pro tempore of the Kentucky Senate and has served in the office for the 2019 Legislative Session,2020 Legislative Session,and 2021 Legislative Session.

The governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky is the head of government of Kentucky. Sixty-two men and one woman have served as governor of Kentucky. The governor's term is four years in length;since 1992,incumbents have been able to seek re-election once before becoming ineligible for four years. Throughout the state's history,four men have served two non-consecutive terms as governor,and two others have served two consecutive terms. Kentucky is one of only five U.S. states that hold gubernatorial elections in odd-numbered years. The current governor is Andy Beshear,who was first elected in 2019.
The Minnesota Senate is the upper house of the Legislature of the U.S. state of Minnesota. At 67 members,half as many as the Minnesota House of Representatives,it is the largest upper house of any U.S. state legislature. Floor sessions are held in the west wing of the State Capitol in Saint Paul. Julian Morton Carroll is an American lawyer and politician from the state of Kentucky. A Democrat,he served as the 54th Governor of Kentucky from 1974 to 1979,succeeding Wendell H. Ford,who resigned to accept a seat in the U.S. Senate. He was most recently a member of the Kentucky Senate,representing Anderson,Franklin,Woodford,Gallatin and Owen counties. He was the first Kentucky governor from the state's far-western Jackson Purchase region. The lieutenant governor he served with,Thelma Stovall,was the first woman to be elected Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky.

David Lewis Williams is an American attorney,Republican politician,and a judge from the U.S. state of Kentucky. From the year 1987 to 2012,Williams represented Senate District 16,a position he secured upon the retirement of fellow Republican Doug Moseley. When Republicans gained control of the state senate in 2000,Williams was chosen as President of the Senate,and held that post continuously until his resignation in November 2012. In September 2010,he announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for governor in the 2011 gubernatorial election. On May 17,2011,Williams secured the Republican nomination over Tea Party movement-backed Phil Moffet. However,he lost the general election by twenty points to incumbent Democratic Governor Steve Beshear. In November 2012,Williams resigned his Senate seat to accept a circuit court judgeship.
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers football program is a college football team that represents Western Kentucky University. The team competes at the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision level and represents the university as a member of Conference USA in the Eastern division. The 2002 team was the FCS national champion. The program has 13 conference championships and 4 FBS-level bowl game victories. The Hilltoppers play their home games at Houchens Industries–L. T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green,Kentucky and the team's head football coach is Tyson Helton.
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and Lady Toppers are the athletic teams that represent Western Kentucky University (WKU),located in Bowling Green,Kentucky,in intercollegiate sports as a member of the NCAA Division I ranks,competing in the Conference USA (C-USA) since the 2014–15 academic year. The Hilltoppers and Lady Toppers previously competed in the Sun Belt Conference from 1982–83 to 2013–14;and in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) from 1948–49 to 1981–82.
