Kyle Evans Gay (born 1985/1986) [1] is an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party,she has served as the lieutenant governor of Delaware since 2025. [2] She was previously a member of the Delaware Senate representing the 5th district from 2021 to 2025. [3] She is the lieutenant governor of Delaware following the 2024 Delaware lieutenant gubernatorial election,defeating Republican nominee Ruth Briggs King in the general election. [4]
Gay was born in Wilmington,Delaware,and grew up in Kennett Square,Pennsylvania,graduating from Unionville High School. She then obtained a Bachelor's degree in international relations and history from Brown University and a Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law. [5]
Gay lives in the Heatherbrooke neighborhood with her husband Olin and their two daughters. [5] [6] serves on the board of the Delaware Bar Foundation. [7]
Amy Tuck is an American attorney and politician who served as the 30th Lieutenant Governor of Mississippi from 2000 to 2008. A member of the Republican Party,she was previously a member of the Mississippi State Senate. The Democratic primary was held on September 10,in which state senator Kyle Evans Gay won the nomination. As Ruth Briggs King was the only Republican candidate who qualified,the Republican primary was cancelled.
