Melissa C. Minor-Brown (born April 19,1984) is an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party,she serves in Delaware House of Representatives representing the 17th district. She has served as the speaker of the body since January 2025 and previously as Majority Leader. [1]
In 2018,Minor-Brown won her primary with 56.7% of the vote. She then won after running unopposed in the general election to replace retiring Democrat Michael Mulrooney. [2] [3]
In 2020,Minor-Brown defeated Independent candidate Timothy Collins with 96% of the vote. [4]
The Delaware State House of Representatives is the lower house of the Delaware General Assembly,the state legislature of the U.S. state of Delaware. It is composed of 41 Representatives from an equal number of constituencies,each of whom is elected to a two-year term. Its members are not subject to term limits,and their terms start the day after the election. The House meets at the Delaware Legislative Hall in Dover.
