Cassie Chambers Armstrong (born September 30,1986) is an American politician who is a member of the Democratic Party representing District 19 in the Kentucky Senate since March 2,2023. [2] A former member of the Louisville Metro Council,she served from January 1,2021,until she won a special election on February 21,2023,to fill the state Senate vacancy left by U.S. Representative Morgan McGarvey. [3] Outside of her legislative service,she is an assistant professor of law at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.

John Rowan was a 19th-century politician and jurist from the U.S. state of Kentucky. Rowan's family moved from Pennsylvania to the Kentucky frontier when he was young. From there,they moved to Bardstown,Kentucky,where Rowan studied law with former Kentucky Attorney General George Nicholas. He was a representative to the state constitutional convention of 1799,but his promising political career was almost derailed when he killed a man in a duel stemming from a drunken dispute during a game of cards. Although public sentiment was against him,a judge found insufficient evidence against him to convict him of murder. In 1804,Governor Christopher Greenup appointed Rowan Secretary of State,and he went on to serve in the Kentucky House of Representatives and the U.S. House of Representatives.

There are no term limits for Kentucky senators. The Kentucky Senate meets at the Kentucky State Capitol in Frankfort annually beginning in January. Thelma Loyace Stovall was a pioneering American politician in the state of Kentucky. In 1949,she won election as state representative for Louisville and served three consecutive terms. Over the next two decades,Stovall was elected Kentucky State Treasurer twice and Secretary of State of Kentucky three times. She capped her career as the 47th Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky (1975–1979) in the administration of her fellow Democrat,Governor Julian Carroll. She was the first woman to hold the office.

John Morgan McGarvey is an American attorney and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Kentucky's 3rd congressional district since 2023. A Democrat,he represented the 19th district in the Kentucky Senate from 2012 to 2023. In 2018,he was elected minority leader,becoming one of the youngest members of a state legislature to serve in a leadership role. He is currently the only Democrat in Kentucky's congressional delegation.
