Nueva Vizcaya was the first province in the north of New Spain to be explored and settled by the Spanish. It consisted mostly of the area which is today the states of Chihuahua and Durango in Mexico.
The Real Audiencia of Mexico or high court was the highest tribunal of the Spanish crown in the Kingdom of New Spain. The Audiencia was created by royal decree on December 13, 1527, and was seated in the viceregal capital of Mexico City. The First Audiencia was dissolved by the crown for its bungling and corruption and the crown established the Second Audiencia in 1530. Another Audiencia was created in Guadalajara in western Mexico in 1548.
The 13th Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the Espacio Cultural Metropolitano of Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico on September 2, 2006. Thirty contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Rosa Maria Ojeda from Sinaloa, who later competed in Miss Universe 2007 in Mexico where she was a Semifinalist in the Top 10. Ojeda was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Priscila Perales. She was the second Sinaloan to win this title.

Cárteles Unidos, also known as La Resistencia is a Mexican criminal enforcer squad composed of well-trained gunmen from the Sinaloa Cartel, Gulf Cartel and Knights Templar Cartel originally formed to expel the Los Zetas Cartel from the states of Michoacán and Jalisco. However, Cárteles Unidos' current main rival has now become the Jalisco New Generation Cartel; a paramilitary criminal organization based in the neighboring state of Jalisco.
The Jalisco New Generation Cartel or CJNG, formerly known as Los Mata Zetas, is a semi-militarized Mexican criminal group based in Jalisco which is headed by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, one of the world's most-wanted drug lords. The cartel has been characterized by its aggressive use of extreme violence and its public relations campaigns. Although the CJNG is particularly known for diversifying into various types of criminal rackets, drug trafficking as well as stealing crude oil remain among their most profitable criminal activities. The cartel has also been noted for cannibalizing some of its victims, sometimes during the training of new sicarios or cartel members as well as using drones to attack their enemies. U.S. prosecutors have said operatives of the cartel tried to buy belt-fed M-60 machine guns in the United States, and once brought down a Mexican military helicopter with a rocket-propelled grenade. As of 2020, the CJNG is generally considered by the Mexican government to be the most dangerous criminal organization in Mexico and the second most powerful drug cartel in the country after Cártel de Sinaloa. The CJNG are currently fighting La Nueva Plaza cartel for control of the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco; Los Viagras and La Familia Michoacana for the states of Michoacán and Guerrero; Los Zetas in the states of Veracruz and Puebla; the Cártel de Sinaloa in Baja California, Sonora, Zacatecas and Chiapas; the Cártel de Juarez in Ciudad Juarez; and the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel in Guanajuato. The CJNG also operates in the states of Nayarit and Colima. While this cartel is best known for its fights against the Zetas and Templarios, it has also been battling Cárteles Unidos for control of Aguililla, Michoacán and its surrounding territories, including the city of Tepalcatepec.
Maria Alejandra Barrales Magdaleno is a Mexican lawyer and politician and the former president of the Party of the Democratic Revolution. She formerly represented the Federal District in the Senate and also served as a federal deputy and in the Legislative Assembly of the Federal District.
Carmen Isabel Jaramillo Velarde is a Panamanian model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned as Señorita Panamá 2020 and Miss Earth Panamá 2015. She represented Panama at Miss Earth 2015 but unplaced. She also represented her country at Miss Universe 2020 held on 16 May 2021.
Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, commonly referred to by his alias El Mencho, is a Mexican suspected drug lord and leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), a criminal group based in Jalisco. He is the most-wanted criminal in Mexico and one of the most-wanted in the U.S. Both governments are offering up to MXN$30 million and US$10 million, respectively, for information that leads to his arrest.
Alma Andrea Meza Carmona is a Mexican model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe 2020. Since winning the title, she became the third Mexican woman to be crowned Miss Universe. She had previously been crowned Mexicana Universal 2020 and Miss Mexico 2017, and placed as the first runner-up at Miss World 2017.

Mexicana Universal 2020 was the 3rd edition of the Mexicana Universal pageant. 30 candidates from all over Mexico competed for the national title. Claudia Lozano of Nuevo León crowned Andrea Meza of Chihuahua at the end event. Meza represented Mexico at the Miss Universe 2020 pageant which she won to become the third Mexican Miss Universe.
Miss World 2021 will be the 70th edition of the Miss World pageant to be held on December 16, 2021 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica will crown her successor at the end of the event.
Miss Mexico 2019 was the 3rd edition of the Miss Mexico pageant, held on Friday September 20, 2019 at the Desert of the Lions National Park in Cuajimalpa de Morelos, Mexico City, Mexico. The winner was Ashley Alvídrez Estrada of Chihuahua and she represented Mexico in Miss World 2019. Alvídrez Estrada was crowned by outgoing titleholder Vanessa Ponce de León, who is also Miss World 2018.
Miss Mexico 2021 was the 4th edition of the Miss Mexico pageant and it was held on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at the Salón Lago Di Como by Castalia in Chihuahua City, Chihuahua, Mexico. Last year's winner, Ashley Alvídrez Estrada of Chihuahua crowned her successor, Karolina Vidales Valdovinos of Michoacán, at the end of the event. Vidales will represent Mexico at Miss World 2021.
Valentina Belén Sánchez Trivella is a Venezuelan-American model, television producer and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Supranational Venezuela 2021. She also represented the state of Nueva Esparta at the Miss Venezuela 2020 where she ended as one of the finalist. Sánchez represented Venezuela at the Miss Supranational 2021 competition, ending as 3rd Runner-Up.
Antonia Cristal Figueroa Alvarado is a Chilean model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universo Chile 2021 pageant. She will represent Chile at the Miss Universe 2021 pageant. She was previously crowned as Miss World Chile 2016 and Miss Earth Chile 2018.
Auri Esthefani López Camejo is a Venezuelan model, imageologist and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Intercontinental Venezuela 2019 representing the state of Carabobo. López will represent Venezuela at the Miss Intercontinental 2021 competition in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
