Limpopo is the northernmost province of South Africa. It is named after the Limpopo River, which forms the province's western and northern borders. The term Limpopo is derived from Rivombo (Livombo/Lebombo), a group of Tsonga settlers led by Hosi Rivombo who settled in the mountainous vicinity and named the area after their leader. The Lebombo mountains are also named after them. The river has been called the Vhembe by local Venda communities of the area. The capital and largest city in the province is Polokwane, while the provincial legislature is situated in Lebowakgomo.

Miss South Africa is a national beauty pageant in South Africa that selects South African representatives to compete in one of the Big Four international beauty pageants Miss Universe, and also selects another representative to participate in Sub-major international pageant Miss Supranational. The Miss South Africa organisation resorted to a contemporary format in selecting representatives which was inaugurated in 2018. Following their newer method, both a Miss World South Africa and a Miss Universe South Africa were selected as representatives. From 2021 onwards, the winner of Miss South Africa will be competing in Miss Universe, and Miss Supranational. The current Miss South Africa 2024 is Mia le Roux. On May 11, 2023, the Miss South Africa Organisation has lost its license as a Miss World licensee holder to Carol Bouwer Productions, which has taken over the license of Miss World South Africa pageant.
Miss Earth South Africa is a beauty pageant in South Africa that began in 2001. The winner of the pageant represents her country at Miss Earth pageant.
Nozipho Nadine Magagula is a South African doctor, model, activist and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Earth South Africa 2016. She became South Africa's representative to Miss Earth 2016 which was held on October 29, 2016, in the Philippines in which she achieved a Top 16 placement.

Tamaryn Nxumalo is a South African beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss South Africa 2018. She represented South Africa in the Miss Universe 2018 competition and placed as the first runner-up.

She advocates for women's health rights, equity in surgical and maternal care, and providing adequate health services to remote and underserved populations. She advises and consults for many institutions, including the World Health Organization. In 2017, she was honored with the Trailblazer and Young Achiever Award. She is a member of the Academy of Science of South Africa.
Zozibini "Zozi" Tunzi .is a South African model, actress, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe 2019. Tunzi had previously been crowned Miss South Africa 2019. She is the third woman from South Africa and the first black South African woman to win the title.

Phophi Constance Ramathuba is a South African politician and medical doctor serving as Premier of Limpopo since June 2024. Miss Grand South Africa is an annual female beauty pageant in South Africa founded in 2015 by Commonwealth Pageant South Africa, led by Anel de Swardt, aiming to select the country representative to compete in its parent contest Miss Grand International. The license was transferred to Zee World in 2016, and later to Maggy-Dee Productions, led by Miss Grand South Africa 2015 "Lenie Pieterse" who currently owns and runs the contest since 2017.
Ndavi Nokeri is a South African model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss South Africa 2022, she represented South Africa at the Miss Universe 2022 and was placed in the top 16.
Keneiloe Molopyane is a South African biological archaeologist and paleoanthropologist. As of 2023 she was lead excavator at Rising Star Cave and is a researcher at Centre for Exploration of the Deep Human Journey at the University of the Witwatersrand. She was named an "emerging explorer" by the National Geographic Society and an invited member of 50 Club Explorers.
Miss Grand South Africa 2024 was the ninth edition edition of the Miss Grand South Africa pageant, held on June 1, 2024, at the Theatre of Marcellus, Emperors Palace, Johannesburg. Twenty-eight candidates from different districts of the country competed for the title. Of whom, a model from Newcastle, Sharné Dheochand, was announced the winner and will represent the country at the international parent stage, Miss Grand International 2024.
