Karpówek [karˈpuvɛk] (German : Muttersegen)^[1] is a settlement in the administrative district of Gmina Wilczęta, within Braniewo County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.^[2] It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) west of Wilczęta, 27 km (17 mi) south of Braniewo, and 62 km (39 mi) north-west of the regional capital Olsztyn.

Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (East Prussia).

East Prussia was a province of the Kingdom of Prussia from 1773 to 1829 and again from 1878 ; following World War I it formed part of the Weimar Republic's Free State of Prussia, until 1945.
