The 1920 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the VII Olympiad and commonly known as Antwerp 1920, were an international multi-sport event held in 1920 in Antwerp, Belgium.
The United States of America (USA) competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. 527 competitors, 332 men and 195 women, took part in 230 events in 27 sports. Karyn Marshall is an American Olympic weightlifter who won the first women's world championship in weightlifting, held in 1987. She also set 60 American and world records in women's weightlifting and in 1985 became the first woman in history to clean and jerk over 300 lb (136 kg), which she did with a lift of 303 pounds (137 kg). She became a chiropractor and runs a private practice in Shrewsbury, New Jersey while battling breast cancer since 2011. In 2011, Marshall was inducted into the USA Weightlifting Hall of Fame, and she was inducted into the International Weightlifting Hall of Fame in 2015.
Krystal Weir is an Australian sailor. She finished tenth at the 2008 Summer Olympics. She was selected to represent Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in sailing in the Women's Laser Radial class event, where she finished in twelfth.
Tania Ann Luiz is an Australian badminton player. At the age of nine, Luiz moved with her family to Melbourne, Australia. She started playing badminton three years later, and went on to represent Australia at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, coincidentally in her home city. She defeated South Africa's Michelle Edwards and Fiji's Karyn Whiteside in the preliminary rounds, before losing out her third match to New Zealand's Rachel Hindley, with a score of 7–21 and 12–21.
