Kastrup Strandpark is a waterfront park on the east coast of Amager in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is situated between the larger Amager Strandpark to the north and the National Aquarium Denmark and the Scanport development to the south.
The park was established on reclaimed land in connection with the construction of the new Kastrup Marina. The project was designed by Friis & Moltke in collaboration with the landscape architect Erik Mygind. [1]
Kastrup Sea Bath was built in 2004–05 to a design by White Architects. It consists of the main building on the water, a new beach and a service building with lavatories and a handicap changing room. [2] In 2009 it received a bronze medal from the olympic committee in the swimming venues category.
Two sculptures are found in the park. An unnamed sculpture by Søren Georg Jensen was donated by Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in 1981. Jørgen Haugen Sørensen's granite sculpture Kolossen is a donation from the Ny Carlsberg Foundation. It is 7.2 metres tall and weights 69 tons. [2]
Øresund or Öresund, commonly known in English as the Sound, is a strait which forms the Danish–Swedish border, separating Zealand (Denmark) from Scania (Sweden). The strait has a length of 118 kilometres (73 mi); its width varies from 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) to 28 kilometres (17 mi). It is 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) wide at its narrowest point between Helsingør in Denmark and Helsingborg in Sweden.
Amager in the Øresund is Denmark's most densely populated island, with more than 212,000 inhabitants on the small appendix to Zealand. The protected natural area of Naturpark Amager makes up more than one-third of the island's total area of 96 km2.
Kastrup is a suburb of Copenhagen, Denmark, situated on the east coast of Amager in Tårnby Municipality. It is best known as the site of Copenhagen Airport. In Danish, the airport is often called Kastrup Lufthavn or Københavns Lufthavn, Kastrup. The population of Kastrup is approximately 43,000.
Boldklubben Fremad Amager is a Danish professional football club based in the district of Amager Vest, Copenhagen. As of the 2020–21 season, the club's senior men's team play in 1st Division, the second-tier of professional football in the country. The club consists of an amateur department and a professional section, that is wholly owned by Fremad Amager Elite ApS – a private limited company created on 2 December 2013, initially with 80/20% ownership split between the new investors and the remaining 20% by the members – and small portion by the club's amateur department. The club have primarily played their home games at Sundby Idrætspark since the stadium's inauguration in 1922. Fremad Amager's last spell in the highest football league in Denmark was in the autumn of 1994. Ever since the first participation in the first nationwide league tournament in 1927, and subsequent promotion in 1929, the club has spent the majority of its history – with the exception of two seasons – in the different divisional structures. The club reached the Danish Cup final in 1971–72 season while playing at the second highest league level, but lost against Vejle BK, who had also won the Danish championship in 1971. As a result, BK Fremad Amager participated in the 1972–73 European Cup Winners' Cup, but did not advance beyond the first round.
Amagerbanen was a Danish railroad line from Copenhagen to Dragør on the island Amager, inaugurated on July 10, 1907.
Dragør is the main town of Dragør Municipality, (Denmark), which includes the village of Store Magleby. The city hall and seat of the municipal council lies on Kirkevej 7 in Store Magleby, which has enough space for such a large building.
Tårnby is a town in Denmark, the seat of Tårnby Municipality in the Capital Region of Denmark. It is located approximately 6.5 kilometres (4.0 mi) south of central Copenhagen on the island of Amager. Neighbouring settlements include the Copenhagen suburb of Sundbyvester to the north and Kastrup to the south. Copenhagen Airport is situated to the east of Tårnby. It includes the islets Saltholm and Peberholm.

Amager Strandpark is a seaside public park in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located on the island of Amager and includes an artificial island and offers a total of 4.6 km (2.9 mi) of beaches. From the beach, the Middelgrunden wind farm can be seen on the horizon.
The Copenhagen Harbour Baths are a system of recreational bathing facilities along the waterfront of Copenhagen, Denmark. There are currently four harbour baths, the first and best-known of which is located at Islands Brygge.
Bellevue Beach, often simply referred to as Bellevue, is a beach at Klampenborg on the northern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark. With up to 500,000 visitors a year, it is one of the most popular beaches in the Copenhagen area, although it attracts somewhat fewer Copenhageners since the inauguration of the Amager Beach Park and the Copenhagen Harbour Baths in 2005.
Kastrupgård is a former manor house in Kastrup, a suburb of Copenhagen, Denmark. Dating from the mid 18th century, it is now a museum housing the Kastrupgård Collection (Kastrupgårdsamlingen) of modern art, which is owned and operated by Tårnby Municipality.
Kastrup Værk was a pottery and tile works in Kastrup, now a suburb of Copenhagen, on the Danish island of Amager.
Nørre Voldgade is a street in central Copenhagen, Denmark. It runs north-east from Jarmers Plads for approximately 600 metres to Gothersgade where it turns into Øster Voldgade. The succession of Nørre Voldgade, Øster Voldgade and Vester Voldgade together forms a traffic artery which arches around the Zealand side of the central and oldest part of Copenhagen. Nørreport Station, Denmark's busiest railway station, is located in the street.
Svanemølle Beach is an urban beach situated in the Østerbro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is situated in the bottom of the Svanemølle Bay, off Strandpromenaden, a promenade that follows the coast between Copenhagen's Nordhavn area to the south and Tuborg Havn in Hellerup to the north. Svanemøllen Marina and the Svanemølle Power Station are located just south of the beach.
Amager Bryghus is a Danish microbrewery situated on the island of Amager. It was founded in 2007 by Morten Valentin Lundsbak and Jacob Storm in an old warehouse previously owned by the Church of Scientology. Its first beer to make it into the Ratebeer Top 50 was an Imperial Stout called Hr. Frederiksen. This particular beer was crafted to celebrate a friend of the owners, Peter Frederiksen, who helped them for a whole year in setting up the brewery. Owing to the success of Hr. Frederiksen, they partnered with Shelton Brothers and began exporting to the United States. Since 2009 they have been in the Ratebeer top 100 breweries list.
Holmbladsgade is one of the most lively streets in the Amagerbro district of Copenhagen, Denmark, connecting Amagerbrogade to Strandlodsvej on the east coast of Amager. The surrounding neighbourhood is variously referred to as Holmbladsgadekvarteret, Amagerbro or Sundby North.
The South Campus is one of University of Copenhagen's four campuses in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is situated on Amager just south of Njalsgade, between Ørestad Boulevard and Amager Fælledvej, forming the northernmost part of Ørestad. It is home to the Faculty of Humanities which will later be joined by the Faculty of Theology and the Faculty of Law. Once completed, the campus will be home to about 12,000 students and researchers.
Kastrup Boldklub is a Danish association football club based in the suburb of Kastrup on Amager. As of the 2017/18-season, the club's first senior men's team play in Denmark Series. The club was founded on 4 May 1933 as Boldklubben Funkis and changed to the current name in 1941. The senior men's football team have since 1985 primarily played their home games at Kastrup Idrætsanlæg located at Røllikevej, Kastrup next to the club house, but have previously played their matches at Tårnby Stadium during their tenure in the higher ranking leagues, and occasionally still do. Kastrup Boldklub has spent a total of 9 seasons in the highest football league in Denmark, the last in 1987. Their best result was set in the 1979 season, when the first team finished in fourth place in the top league and thus qualified for the 1980 Intertoto Cup. The club has participated in two elite superstructures, Amager United (2002–2006) and FC Amager (2008–2009) and enjoy long-standing rivalries against neighbouring clubs BK Fremad Amager and AB Tårnby. The Tårnby-based club has fielded eight active players on the national football teams, seven youth male players for the teams of Under-17, Under-19, Under-21, Denmark national amateur football team, Denmark national B-football team, and a senior player on the Denmark national football team, including one female player on a youth team.
Prøvestenen, also known as Benzinøen, is an artificial island off the northeast coast of Amager in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located between the Amager Hill combined incineration plant and ski slope to the north and Amager Strandpark to the south. It was created as a marine fortress to guard the entrance to Copenhagen Harbour in the second half of the 18th century and served military purposes until 1922. It now houses the city's petroleum harbor. Prøvestensbroen at the end of Prags Boulevard links it with the rest of Amager.
