The Kazakhstan Rugby Union is the governing body for rugby union in Kazakhstan. It is a full member of World Rugby.
The Union organises the Kazakhstan national rugby union team, known as the Nomads.
The Kazakhstan national rugby union team, nicknamed "The Nomads", is controlled by the Kazakhstan Rugby Union. Kazakhstan have been participating in international competition since 1994 after their independence from the USSR.
The Arabian Gulf rugby union team was a combined team of players that represented the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council in international rugby union competitions. The team competed in international matches between 1993 and 2010, and was governed by the Arabian Gulf Rugby Football Union (AGRFU). Associate members were Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan.

Fabian Juries is a South African former rugby union player. As of 2014 Juries was the IRB Sevens World Series' third-highest ever try-scorer. He led the World Series in tries scored in 2004 and again in 2008. In 2008, he was nominated for the World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year award, but lost to New Zealand’s DJ Forbes. After his playing career, Juries coached in Dubai at the Apollo Rugby Skills Academy.

Svetlana Klyuchnikova is a former Kazakh rugby union and sevens player. She played internationally for Kazakhstan and competed at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup's. She also won a gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games.
