Elvebakk is educated at the University of Oslo, Norwegian School of Management and Oslo Film and Television Academy. He has worked several years for The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) - both radio and TV. Ballet Boys had theatrical releases in several countries including The UK (London 9 September 2014), France, Norway, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Ballet Boys has achieved great success and sold to many countries. His latest film Hello World premiered at the film festival Oslo Pix on 31 May 2021 and won the audience award for best film and had its international festival premiere at Cinekid in the section "Best Children's Film".

The Cinekid Festival is the largest international film, television and new media festival for children aged 4 to 14 held at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It started as a small children's film festival and has now grown into a large organisation that develops activities for children in the areas of film, television and new media throughout the year. These activities are presented alongside the festival, whereas the festival itself screens films from all over the world and a selection of the best television programs for children. It also organises several new media activities. Each year the festival is attended by over 50,000 children, parents and (international) guests.
My Mercy Box is a Norwegian documentary series for children and families, produced by the Norwegian production company TV Inter. The original title in Norway is Fride på Skipet, and the series was aired at the children's network NRK Super, spring 2010. The first of ten episodes was broadcast 8 April 2010. It is about eight-year-old Fride Tvedt, living on the hospital ship MS Africa Mercy. The ship sails along the coast of West Africa in a humanitarian effort for the Christian organization Mercy Ships. Fride's father is a dentist and her mother is a nurse. Fride's older brother and sister also live on board.

The Queen Sonja Singing Competition is a music competition for young singers taking place every two years in Oslo, Norway. The competition was arranged for the first time in 1988. Participants are selected by a screening committee on the basis of recordings submitted in the application process. 40 singers are invited to the competition in Oslo. The competition programme includes preliminary rounds, a semi-final and final, as well as masterclasses, career development sessions, concerts and social events. The last competition was 15 - 26 August 2023. The next competition will be held in Oslo in August 2025.
