Kentucky Route 47 is a 9.851-mile state highway in Kentucky that runs from KY 36 and KY 467 in Sanders to US 42 in Ghent KY 47 mostly stays in Carroll County but makes a short entrance into Gallatin County while passing under Interstate 71.

Route description

KY 47 begins at an intersection with KY 36/KY 467 in Sanders, Carroll County, heading north as a two-lane undivided road concurrent with KY 467. The road crosses a CSX railroad line before KY 467 splits to the northeast. KY 47 continues north through areas of homes before it leaves Sanders and heads into woodland. The road curves to the northwest and heads north-northwest through a mix of farmland and woods. The route crosses into Gallatin County, where it intersects the western terminus of KY 465 before passing under I-71 without an interchange. KY 47 heads back into Carroll County and comes to an intersection with the southern terminus of KY 184, at which point it runs to the northwest through forested areas. The road heads west through fields and woods before intersecting the northern terminus of KY 2984 and curves to the northwest, becoming Main Cross Street. The route winds west through more rural areas before heading to the north into forests and intersecting the eastern terminus of KY 1112. KY 47 passes through more farm fields and woodland before crossing a CSX railroad line and heading into Ghent. The route runs past homes and businesses before it ends at US 42. [1] [2]

The highway, maintained by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, runs north from High Bridge, Kentucky through Wilmore before ending at Nicholasville. Within Wilmore, KY 29 intersects Kentucky Route 1268 and junctions with Kentucky Route 3433. The highway acts as the border between Asbury University and Asbury Theological Seminary. Just north of Wilmore, KY 29 merges with U.S. Route 68 for 0.590 miles (0.950 km) before leaving US 68 and turning east heading towards Nicholasville. KY 29 terminates at Kentucky Route 39 and U.S. Route 27 Business in downtown Nicholasville.

Kentucky Route 168 is a two-lane route extending from US 23 in Westwood to the US 23/60 multiplex in Catlettsburg. Its southern end point in Catlettsburg was originally at the underpass where Walnut and Louisa Streets once split. In 1971, the former ending was truncated to its present location due to the re-routing of U.S. 23 around downtown Catlettsburg. Once inside the city of Ashland, it traverses three different surface streets known as Valley View Drive, Blackburn Avenue and South Belmont Street via a series of turns, mainly within the South Ashland residential district. In Ashland, it crosses 13th Street at an intersection locally known as Community.
