Kerala Cyber Warriors is an Indian hacktivist organization commonly abbreviated as KCW. The organization was founded in October 23, 2015 by GH057_R007.

Some of their more notable hacks include hacking into various Pakistani government websites, such as defacing the Pakistan Academy for Rural Development in 2017 in retaliation for Pakistan's treatment of Kulbhushan Jadhav. [1] [2] [3] In 2016, after a morphed image of Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni circulated by Bangladeshi cricket fans, Kerala Cyber Warriors hacked into various websites in Bangladesh. The websites included government websites. [4]

The group was disbanded on 24 January 2018 and relaunched it back on 8 August 2018 with 17 members and 2 admins.

List of attacks

Operation Hindu Mahasabha

On 30 January, 2019, Hindu Mahasabha recreated the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi and glorified his assassin Nathuram Godse. In response to this the official website of the Hindu Mahasabha was hacked by Kerala Cyber Warriors. [5] As of now, it is still hacked. [6] [7] [8]

KCW had also hacked the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha’s website in August 2018, putting up the recipe for ‘spicy beef curry’ in the hack. [9] [10]

Operation Pakistan Cyber Space

The group used to deface Pakistani websites with a hashtag #OP_PAK_CYBER_CYBER_SPACE as a response to Pakistan hackers for hacking down Indian websites with hate speech. This payback operation is one of their main mission. Apart from that, they always carry out a mass defacement missions on Pakistani websites.

The team comes up with numerous defaced websites on January 26 to wish Indian republic day August 15 to wish Indian Independence day, and 26 November to remember the martyrs heroes who sacrificed their lives in Mumbai attack. [11] The group claimed to have hacked over 2000+ Pakistani governmental, organizations, educational websites.

Operation Indian Media

On November 25, 2015, Kerala Cyber Warriors hacked a regional media website for publishing fake news and pornography related headlines to get traffic on their website. The team member claimed, that they have deleted the articles they published and warned the media not to publish any more fake stories and porno related headlines to seek attention. The attack was later reported by a media calls by One India.

Operation Indian Sex Rackets

On July 4, 2017, a former Kerala Cyber Warriors group member hacked in to a Facebook page called "Sundari Kuttikal" (Beautiful Kids) ran by a pedophilia. The hacker, then posted a message with the mission name #OP_IN_SEX_RACKETS and exposed the person who is running behind the page and the chats that was received to the page from perverts in a video.

Operation Boycott Kerala

Boycott Kerala is a result of misleading information that is spread by  Animal Welfare Board of India. To control the fury of the feral dog attacks, state government is forced to safeguard the interest of people. And the people who are spreading this rumors don't know what exactly is happening here in Kerala and how badly people are suffering from these stray dogs. These even include small children who return home after tuition. The worst part is that these rumors spread like wildfire and sense of racial hatred is developing against South India leaving the state in sadness.

Kerala Cyber Warriors launched the mission #OP_BOYCOTTKERALA and hacked into numerous Facebook profiles who spread fake allegations and hate speech about Kerala. The hacker posted videos of him taking down profiles on their official Facebook page.

Operation Indian Online Prostitution

Kerala Cyber Warriors core members hacked and taken the admin access to more than 1000+ pages that shares vulgar images on Facebook. They exposed their hidden agenda which is advertising prostitution on Facebook.

Operation Indian Sex Chatting

The group mainly target and focusing on this mission. As of now, Kerala Cyber Warriors claimed that they hacked into 5000+ Facebook profiles who created fake profiles of females on Facebook. Which are being morphed and misused to promote online sex chats and pornographic content.

Over the past years, several mainstream medias reported about this mission. #OP_INDIAN_SEX_CHATTING According to news reports, Kerala Cyber Warriors hack in to Facebook profiles who created fake account to misuses females’ photos. Later, expose the original details of the person who created such fake profiles. Team used to publish the name of the account creator with their phone number and home address to make them shame publicly.

Operation Troll Bangladesh

Kerala Cyber Warriors have hacked into more than 20 Bangladesh based websites including six government domains in retaliation to a fan's photo-shopped image of Bangladesh bowler Taskin Ahmed carrying the severed head of Indian skipper MS Dhoni which went viral on social media. The crew member from Kerala Cyber Warriors defaced the websites with  a message "Message to the citizens of Bangladesh, your cricket team is nothing in front of us". "We are proud Indians and will not allow such attack and defaming of the nation. People of Bangladesh trolled Dhoni with his morphed picture. Dhoni replied to them on the field and we are answering to them on cyber space. This was later reported in BBC and in Daily Mail. [4]

Operation Inequality

Kerala Cyber Warriors hacked in to a school website which treated their student in unequally. Hackers left a message on their website with hashtag #OP_Inequality saying, "Discrimination cannot be tolerated".

Operation Boby Chemmanur

Kerala Cyber Warriors hacked into boby chemmanur's website when his sting operation went viral. Hackers hacked in to 3 of his websites including Chemmanur jewelers website when the mainstream media's ignored him for his jewelers advertisements. The team left with a message with exposed video in his website.

Operation Escort Agencies

Kerala Cyber Warriors started this mission after #OP_BoycottKerala. The team defaced and destroyed more than 15 active escort agencies websites which was promoting sex racket service. The deface showed up threatening, "we are watching your movements, we will expose and make you put in jail" the websites gone offline and never came online after

Operation Nehru Institutions

January 10, 2017, Kerala Cyber Warriors Hacked in to the Nehru College of Engineering and Research Centre official website to display Justice For Jishnu Pranoy who was a first year B.Tech student was found hanging at the hostel of the Nehru College of Engineering and Research Centre, Pambady in Thrissur. Hacker left a message showing "We lost a legend !!!  nowadays, the education system became a business,we are not satisfied and will not be satisfied until justice rolls downmay your soul rest in peace."....

Vishnu Ghanashyam Deshpande was an Indian politician. He was born in Mehkar, Vidarbha, Maharashtra. V.G. Deshpande was the general secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha.

Pornography in Pakistan is illegal and is subject to several legal provisions. The Government of Pakistan has put a 100% ban on internet website containing such material since November 2011. The list of banned pornographic websites is updated on an ongoing basis.

TeaMp0isoN was a computer security research group consisting of 3 to 5 core members. Syrian Electronic Army Hacker group

The Syrian Electronic Army (SEA) is a group of computer hackers which first surfaced online in 2011 to support the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Using spamming, website defacement, malware, phishing, and denial-of-service attacks, it has targeted terrorist organizations, political opposition groups, western news outlets, human rights groups and websites that are seemingly neutral to the Syrian conflict. It has also hacked government websites in the Middle East and Europe, as well as US defense contractors. As of 2011 the SEA has been "the first Arab country to have a public Internet Army hosted on its national networks to openly launch cyber attacks on its enemies".

OpIsrael (#OpIsrael), is an annual coordinated cyber-attack where hacktivists attack Israeli government and even private websites with DDoS attacks and more. The inaugural campaign was launched in 2013 by Anonymous hackers on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day. The campaign has since been held annually.

The celebration of Valentine's Day in India began to become popular following the economic liberalisation. There have been protests against the celebrations by groups who consider it a western influence. Almost every year, law and order problems occur on 14 February in many cities in India due to protests.

Sudarshan News is an Indian news channel in Hindi. Suresh Chavhanke is the chairman as well as Editor in Chief.

Kulbhushan Sudhir Jadhav is an Indian national. It is alleged by the Pakistani government that he was arrested in the Pakistani province of Balochistan on charges of terrorism and spying for India's intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing. On 10 April 2017, Indian foreign ministry said he had been "kidnapped last year from Iran and his subsequent presence in Pakistan has never been explained credibly".

<i>The Quint</i> English and Hindi language Indian news website

The Quint is an English and Hindi language Indian news website founded by Raghav Bahl and Ritu Kapur after their exit from Network18. Their reporters have won several awards; however some of their reportings have been criticised.

Ghost Squad Hackers or by the abbreviation "GSH" is a politically motivated hacktivist team responsible for conducting cyber attacks on central banks, Fox News and CNN, leaking sensitive data of the United States Armed Forces, leaking sensitive data of the Israeli government, hijacking Afghanistan's Chief Executive's Twitter, and much more. Led by the administrative de facto leader known as s1ege. The group's prime intent and focus is embedded on anti-governmental and organization cyber protests within current involvements of media speculation and real life happenings in 2016 to present.

Fake news in India refers to misinformation, disinformation or mal-information in the country which is spread through word of mouth and traditional media and more recently through digital forms of communication such as edited videos, memes, unverified advertisements and social media propagated rumours. Fake news spread through social media in the country has become a serious problem, with the potential of it resulting in mob violence, as was the case where at least 20 people were killed in 2018 as a result of misinformation circulated on social media.

Swami Chakrapani is an Indian political activist and ascetic who claims to be the president of Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha, a long-standing Hindu nationalist organisation in India. He has gained media attention for his purchase of wanted criminal Dawood Ibrahim's properties at auctions and his attempts to convert them into public toilets. In March 2018, Chakrapani was designated as a fraudulent ascetic by Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, the apex organisation of Hindu Sants (saints) and Sadhus (ascetics) in India; Chakrapani refuted the claim and instead deemed the Parishad to be a bogus body.
