Sailing/Yachting is an Olympic sport starting from the Games of the 1st Olympiad. With the exception of 1904 and the canceled 1916 Summer Olympics, sailing has always been included on the Olympic schedule. The Sailing program of 1924 consisted of a total of three sailing classes (disciplines). For each of the classes the event an elimination round, semi-finals and finals were scheduled. The French National Monotype 1924 was on the program from 10 to 13 July. The Metre classes had their races from 21 to 26 July.

He has been representing the Royal Swedish Yacht Club throughout most of his career.
Pierre-Alexis Ponsot is a French sailor, who specialized in two-person keelboat (Star) class. He represented France, along with his partner and six-time Olympian Xavier Rohart at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and has also been training for Ouest Nautical Sports Club throughout most of his sporting career. As of September 2014, Leboucher is ranked forty-first in the world for fleet racing and keelboat by the International Sailing Federation, following his successes at the 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships and 2012 Star World Championships.
Romuald Hausser is a Swiss sailor, who specialized in two-person dinghy (470) class. He represented Switzerland, along with his partner Yannick Brauchli, at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and has also been training for Versoix Nautical Club throughout most of his sporting career under his personal coach Nicolas Novara. As of September 2014, Hausser is ranked sixteenth in the world for two-person dinghy class by the International Sailing Federation, following his successes at the North American Championships, European Championships and ISAF Sailing World Cup Series.

Hélène Defrance is a French competitive sailor, who won a bronze medal in the women's 470 event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She also won the 2010 470 European Championships race, and the 2016 470 World Championships. Defrance is a knight of the Ordre national du Mérite.
France competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. French athletes have appeared in every Summer Olympic Games of the modern era, alongside Australia, Great Britain, Greece, and Switzerland. As Paris will host the 2024 Summer Olympics, France was the penultimate nation to enter the stadium, alongside the United States which will host the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, before the host country Japan during the parade of nations at the opening ceremony. Additionally, a French segment was performed in Paris and some pre-recorded events at the closing ceremony as performers did not travel to Tokyo due to the travel restrictions related to the pandemic. However, Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo was the only delegation present at the ceremony.
Anne-Sophie Thilo is a Swiss former sailor, who specialized in the two-person dinghy (470) class. Together with her partner Emmanuelle Rol, she won a silver medal at the Europeans in Riva del Garda, Italy and was named one of the country's top sailors in the double-handed dinghy for the Summer Olympics a few months later in Beijing, finishing in a lowly seventeenth place. A member of her native Pully's local sailing club, Thilo trained most of her sporting career under the federation's head coach for 470, French-born Nicolas Novara.
Lise Vidal was a French windsurfer. She competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics, finishing ninth in the Women's Mistral One Design event.
Xavier Revil is a French sailor, who specialized in the multihull (Tornado) class. Together with his partner Christophe Espagnon, he was named one of the country's top sailors in the mixed multihull catamaran for the 2008 Summer Olympics, finishing in a distant eleventh position. Outside his Olympic career, he and Espagnon gave the home crowd a further reason to celebrate with a bronze-medal finish at the 2005 Tornado Worlds in La Rochelle. A member of the local sailing regatta club in his current hometown Annecy, Revil trained most of his competitive sporting career under the tutelage of his personal coach Philippe Neiras.
Damien Seguin is a French sailor. He is a paralympic champion and was a Nominee for World Sailing - World Sailor of the Year Awards. With sailing no longer on the Paralympic agenda he has pursued offshore yacht racing, competing in the 2020–2021 Vendée Globe a solo round the world race.
Eilidh Jane McIntyre is a British former sailor, who won the gold medal alongside Hannah Mills in the 470 event at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She won the 2019 470 World Championships, and came second at the 2017 470 World Championships. She finished third at the 2015 470 European Championships, and second at the 2019 and 2021 events, as well as having won multiple Sailing World Cup medals. In 2022, McIntyre was awarded an MBE for services to yachting.

Eya Guezguez was a Tunisian sailor. She competed in the 49er FX event at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Hélène Noesmoen is a French windsurfer who competes in the IQFoil class. She won the women's events at the 2021 IQFoil World Championships and the 2020, 2021 and 2022 IQFoil European Championships. Noesmoen also won the RS:X event at the 2018 Sailing World Cup event in Miami, and multiple junior world championships.
