Luc Pillot (born 10 July 1959) is a French sailor and Olympic champion.
He won a gold medal in the 470 class at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, together with Thierry Peponnet. [1] They received bronze medals in 1984. [2]
Pillot won the yachting race Tour de France à la voile in 1998. He was the skipper of Le Défi at the 2003 Louis Vuitton Cup.
The 1988 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXIV Olympiad and commonly known as Seoul 1988, was an international multi-sport event held from 17 September to 2 October 1988 in Seoul, South Korea. 159 nations were represented at the games by a total of 8,391 athletes. 237 events were held and 27,221 volunteers helped to prepare the Olympics.
Djibouti took part in the 1988 Summer Olympics which were held in Seoul, South Korea from September 17 to October 2. The country's participation marked its second appearance in the Summer Olympics since its debut at the 1984 Summer games in Los Angeles, United States. The delegation from Djibouti included six athletes, five in athletics and one in sailing. The five athletes for athletics were Hoche Yaya Aden, Ismael Hassan, Talal Omar Abdillahi, Hussein Ahmed Salah, and Omar Moussa while Robleh Ali Adou represented the nation in sailing. Ahmed Salah won the nation's first Olympic medal, which is a bronze at the Men's Marathon event.
Christopher Ian Timms was a yachtsman from New Zealand. He won a gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, and a silver medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. Timms died in 2004 when the aircraft he was flying in crashed into the Firth of Thames.
Nicolas Hénard is a French sailor. He is a double Olympic gold medal winner. First in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, winning the Tornado class with Jean-Yves Le Déroff. Second in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, winning the Tornado class with Yves Loday.

José Luis Doreste Blanco is a Spanish sailor and Olympic champion. He was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Las Palmas. He competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, where he won a gold medal in the Finn class. In 1998–99, he was a crewmember on Fortuna Extra Lights in the Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race.

He competed in the Soling class together with Jochen Schümann and Bernd Jäkel at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, where they won the gold medal. The same crew participated at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, where they also received a gold medal.

Erik Bjørkum is a Norwegian sailor and Olympic medallist, born in Sandefjord. He received a silver medal in the Flying Dutchman class at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, together with Ole Petter Pollen. Bjørkum and Pollen won a silver medal at the 1988 European Championships, and a bronze medal at the 1989 Flying Dutchman World Championship.
