"Straight Up" is a song recorded by American singer-choreographer Paula Abdul for her debut album Forever Your Girl (1988). A mid-tempo dance-pop song with influence from the pop rock and new jack swing genres, the song finds Abdul asking her partner to "straight up now tell [her]" if he was genuinely in love with her or not. Written and produced entirely by musician Elliot Wolff, the single version was released as the album's third single on November 22, 1988 by Virgin Records. It eventually became a breakthrough success for Abdul in the States, earning the singer her first chart-topper on the Billboard Hot 100, further catapulting its parental album to reach the top-twenty on the Billboard 200 chart, before it finally reached number one after a record-setting 64 weeks on the market.. "Straight Up" was also one of Abdul's signature hits, brought her to widespread public attention, and remained as her biggest international hit to date, reaching the top-ten region in over eleven countries. The song was then included in all of her six compilation albums, released sometimes between 1998 and 2013.

This Is the Right Time

"This Is the Right Time" is a song recorded by British singer Lisa Stansfield for her 1989 album, Affection. It was written by Stansfield, Ian Devaney and Andy Morris, and produced by Coldcut. The song was released as the first European single on 31 July 1989. It included "Affection," "Big Thing" and remixes created by David Dorrell, CJ Mackintosh, Paul Witts and Eddie Gordon. The music video was directed by Big TV!. One year later, on 30 July 1990, "This Is the Right Time" was issued as the third North American single. It included previously unreleased track, "My Apple Heart" and new remixes created by Shep Pettibone and Yvonne Turner. The second music video for the North American market was directed by Jimmy Fletcher. In September 1990, just before Stansfield's European tour, the double A-side single "This Is the Right Time"/"You Can't Deny It" with new US remixes was released in selected European countries. Celebrate: The Greatest Hits is a compilation album by Scottish rock band Simple Minds, released on March 25, 2013. There were three different formats released: a two-disc version, a three-disc version, and a single-disc version for the North American market. The album spans all of their studio albums from 1979's Life in a Day to 2009's Graffiti Soul, which at the time was the latest album Simple Minds released, plus the live version "Promised You a Miracle" from 1987's Live in the City of Light, and new tracks recorded for this compilation: "Stagefright", "Blood Diamonds", and "Broken Glass Park". The 1-disc and 2-disc version come in jewel cases. The 3-disc version comes in a clam shell box which comes with sleeves for each disc, a double-sided poster that includes the album's cover art on one side and the cover art for all of the singles included on this compilation on the other side.
