Kill Me is the fourth extended play released by British indie rock band Sundara Karma. The EP was released on 24 November 2020 through Chess Club Records.
Following touring in support of their sophomore album, Ulfilas' Alphabet , lead singer Oscar Pollock took most of 2020 off from music. Pollock told NME in a October 2020 interview that he "got to a point where I felt lost within myself". [1] Pollock further explained that he spent much of 2020 coping with existentialism and depression. [1] Pollock stated that ahead of the release of the EP, which was recorded throughout 2020, that it "seems to have resolved". [1]
The entire album was recorded and produced during the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. The songs were recorded by the band in their personal studio, while the production by Clarence Clarity was undertaken via phone calls and e-mail. [1]
Oscar Pollock told NME that the EP is more expansive than the traditional guitar-driven tracks found in their first two studio albums. "[It is] vaster and less emo. I was saying over a year ago that I was ready to move on from ‘Ulfilas’ Alphabet’, and I had a bunch of songs kicking around. But, if I don't get given a deadline, I'll just let songs rot on a hard drive". [1]

Kill Me was met with mixed reviews by contemporary music critics. On review aggregator website, Album of the Year, Kill Me has an average rating of 67 out of 100. [2] Stephen Ackroyd, writing for Dork magazine, gave the album a positive review, saying that the EP, "is a collection of tracks that sends Sundara streaming into the starlight". Ackroyd further praised Clarence Clarity's production work on the album. Ackroyd summarized the EP as an exciting preamble of what could come on the band's third full-length album. [4]
Writing for DIY magazine, Emma Swann gave the album four stars out of five. Swann called the album a sprawling album that can get lost at times, especially with Clarity's production. However, Swann said that because of the band's "knack for a hook, and love of a big chorus is what keeps 'Kill Me' from descending into total chaos". [3]
Ben Kitto, writing for Riot Magazine, was critical of the EP calling it "turgid". Kitto further critiqued the production of the record saying that "the production doesn’t do the dragging, bombastic drum line the justice it thinks it does. Meanwhile, Pollock’s vocal is less dynamic and inimitable, and more one-note. And the mess of the rest of the production drowns it out anyway." Kitto gave Kill Me a four out of ten rating. [5]

Inheaven were an English four-piece alternative band from South London. Formed in 2014, the band released their first single "Regeneration" in 2015 via Julian Casablancas' label Cult Records. The single was supported by BBC Radio 1/BBC6 Music DJs Annie Mac, Phil Taggart, Steve Lamacq and Chris Hawkins. The band were featured in DIY and XFM's ones to watch for 2016 with NME heralding them "one of the UK’s most exciting new bands". The band also topped DIY's readers poll in 2016 coming in first place for Track of the Year, second for band of the year and fourth best live act of the year.
Sundara Karma are an English rock band formed in 2011 in Reading, England. The band consists of lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Oscar Pollock, lead guitarist Ally Baty, bassist Dom Cordell and drummer Haydn Evans. The band's name is derived from Sanskrit words, meaning "Beautiful Karma".

Pale Waves are an English rock band from Manchester, formed in 2014. It was founded originally as Creek when lead singer and guitarist Heather Baron-Gracie met drummer Ciara Doran while attending university in Manchester. Alfie George Templeman is an English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. In 2016, he began recording and releasing demos at the age of 13. Templeman made his professional solo debut in 2018 and has released four extended plays since then. He describes his sound as "indie R&B" and often draws inspiration from the experiences of others, such as characters from TV shows.
"Me & You Together Song" is a song by English band the 1975 from their fourth studio album, Notes on a Conditional Form (2020). The song was released on 16 January 2020 through Dirty Hit and Polydor Records as the third single from the album. It was written by band members George Daniel, Matthew Healy, Adam Hann and Ross MacDonald. Production of the song was handled by Daniel and Healy alongside Jonathan Gilmore. Inspired by Amy Watson, Chelsea Pollard and the idealism of a teenage romance, Healy conceived the song as part of the soundtrack to German, a film he planned on creating. Although the film did not come to fruition, the 1975 continued to work on the song, channeling the sound of their former band Drive Like I Do.
Who Am I? is the second studio album by English indie pop band Pale Waves. It was released on 12 February 2021 by the independent record label Dirty Hit. The record was produced by Rich Costey and recorded in Los Angeles. While the band's previous album, My Mind Makes Noises (2018), took inspiration from 1980s synth pop, Who Am I? was inspired by female pop and rock musicians from the 1990s and early 2000s, including acts like Avril Lavigne, Liz Phair, Michelle Branch, Alanis Morissette, and Courtney Love.
L'objectif are an English rock band from Leeds. Formed in 2017 by vocalist and guitarist Saul Kane and drummer Louis Bullock, the band performed as a duo up until 2020, when they recruited guitarist Dan Richardson and bassist Ezra Glennon. Their debut EP Have It Your Way was released on 20 July 2021, through Chess Club Records and Mirror Music Group. The EP's lead single "Drive in Mind" peaked at number one on Free40's Dutch independent music chart.
NewDad are an indie rock band from Galway, Ireland. Their music has been compared to The Cure, Beabadoobee, and Just Mustard by NME magazine. Atwood Magazine wrote of the group: "The band oozes personality with cynical but honest lyrics, colorful visual components, and poignant messages about coping with the, albeit painful, formative experiences." The group have appeared at the Green Man Festival in Wales, the Pitchfork Music Festival in Paris, and on the Irish television program Other Voices.
Oblivion! is the fifth extended play by British indie rock band Sundara Karma. The EP was released on 1 April 2022 through Chess Club Records. It is the band's second EP that was produced by Clarence Clarity, after the first being their 2020 EP, Kill Me.
Body Type are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney, New South Wales. The group consists of Sophie McComish, Annabel Blackman, Georgia Wilkinson-Derums, and Cecil Coleman. They have released two extended plays: Body Type (2018) and EP2 (2019). Their debut album, Everything Is Dangerous but Nothing's Surprising, was released in May 2022.
