Kiran Ghai (born 23 August 1949) [1] [2] is a national vice president of the Bharatiya Janata Party. [3] She is an MLC in Bihar state in India, and Chairperson of Child Protection and Women empowerment committee of Bihar Legislative Council. [4]

Earlier she was the national secretary of BJP. She is also a reader in the department of Hindi Patna Women's College, a constituent unit of Patna University, Patna.[ citation needed ] She has been a jury member for the 48th and 50th Indian Nation Film Awards, in the categories of feature and non-feature films. She has been a local board member (Eastern Zone, Reserve Bank of India). Mrs. Kiran Ghai is also a poet and a playwright. She is resident of Mainpuri, Patna.[ citation needed ]

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Shri Krishna Sinha</span> Indian Statesman

Shri Krishna Singh (Sinha) (21 October 1887 – 31 January 1961), also known as Shri Babu, was the first chief minister of the Indian state of Bihar (1946–61). Except for the period of World War II, Sinha was the chief minister of Bihar from the time of the first Congress Ministry in 1937 until his death in 1961. Along with the Desh Ratna Rajendra Prasad and Bihar Vibhuti Anugrah Narayan Sinha (A.N. Sinha), Sinha is regarded among the architects of modern Bihar. He also led the Dalit entry into the Baidyanath Dham temple (Vaidyanath Temple, Deoghar). He was the first chief minister in the country to abolish the zamindari system. He underwent terms of imprisonment for a total of about eight years in British India. Sinha's mass meetings brought many people to hear him. He was known as Bihar Kesari for his "lionlike roars" in public speaking. His close friend and Gandhian Bihar Vibhuti A.N. Sinha in his essay Mere Shri Babu wrote that, "Since 1921, the History of Bihar has been the history of the life of Shri Babu". The 'Bihar Kesari' never visited his constituency to ask for votes as he believed that his work will speak for him.

Sushil Kumar Modi was an Indian politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party who was a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from Bihar. He was a Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar as well as the Finance Minister of Bihar from 2005 to 2013 and 2017 to 2020. He was a lifelong member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He was appointed the Chairman of the Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers for the Implementation of Goods and Service Tax in July 2011.

He is a senior BJP leader who joined, as minister, the Bihar Government after the split of the Mahagathbandhan and parting of ways between RJD and JDU in June 2013. Before that, he was cabinet minister for road construction and tourism and the leader of the opposition in the Bihar Assembly, at present Chairman- Prakalan Samiti.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Ganga Prasad</span> Indian politician

Ganga Prasad Chaurasia is an Indian politician who is former governor of the states of Sikkim and Meghalaya. He was a member of Bihar Legislative Council and was the leader of the opposition during the RJD regime. He also held the post of leader of the Bihar legislative council during the NDA rule in Bihar. He got associated with Jan Sangh and remained associated with the same ideology till date. He is an ardent follower of Arya Samaj and served as Pradhan (Head) of the Bihar Arya Samaj Pratinidhi Sabha unit. He is popularly known as 'Ganga Babu' in the political circle.

Bhim Singh Chandravanshi is an Indian educationist and politician who has been serving as a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from Bihar since 2024. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party since 2015, he holds the position of vice president of the BJP in the state of Bihar.
