Kirsty-Leigh Porter (born 30 December 1988 [1] ) is an English actress, known for her roles in British soap operas, including portraying Zoe Willson on Coronation Street , Roz Fielding on Emmerdale and Leela Lomax on Hollyoaks .

Career

Porter attended Oldham Theatre Workshop and trained extensively in dance including ballet, jazz, contemporary and modern dance. [1] She has played a number of small roles on British television, including Doctors , The Royal Today , Shameless and Ashes to Ashes . Porter went on to have larger roles in the children's television programme My Spy Family , as Marcy, and The Street as Ellie.

It was announced in July 2009 that Porter had been cast in the long-running ITV soap opera Coronation Street as the girlfriend of long established character David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd). [2] After her role in Coronation Street, Porter was cast in another ITV soap, Emmerdale, as the best friend of Holly Barton (Sophie Powles). Her role in Emmerdale as Roz, included pushing Holly into taking illegal drugs, and stealing to fuel her addiction. At the end of the storyline, it was announced that Porter would be leaving the soap. [3] On 26 June 2013, it was announced that Porter would be joining the cast of Hollyoaks and over a month later it was announced she would play Leela Lomax, one of established character Ste Hay's (Kieron Richardson) two half-sisters. [4]

In September 2023, Channel 4 announced Porter as one of the contestants on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. [5]

Holly Barton is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera Emmerdale, played by Sophie Powles. She made her first on-screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 17 July 2009. Holly was introduced to the soap as part of the Bartons, a new farming family who took over the running of Butler's Farm. Holly was joined by her mother, father and two siblings. The family were described as being "sexy, modern and contemporary" by the show's series producer, Gavin Blyth. Holly departed on 20 June 2012, but Powles later reprised her role and Holly returned on 24 March 2016 for a six-month stint. The character was killed off on 29 September 2016.

Peri made her first on-screen appearance in episode 3705, originally broadcast on 4 October 2013. After being introduced as the "sister" of pre-established longstanding character Ste Hay alongside her believed to be two sisters Leela Lomax and Tegan Lomax, the character was devised in a plot-twist meaning she was revealed to be the biological daughter of Leela who had conceived Peri at fourteen with childhood lover and serial killer Cameron Campbell who later murdered her grandparents. Danny Lomax is a fictional character from the British soap opera Hollyoaks, played by Stephen Billington. The character and casting were announced in July 2013, with Billington making his first appearance on 8 July. Billington, who had previously appeared on Coronation Street, was happy to be cast on another soap. He had previously auditioned for another role on Hollyoaks but was glad he did not receive it as he preferred Danny's character. Danny was introduced as a new drama teacher and as a love interest of John Paul McQueen. Danny was characterised as being charming, caring and secretive, with it being teased that Danny has many secrets that would come out. It is revealed that Danny is happily married to Sam Lomax whilst having a relationship with John Paul. Sam and her daughters with Danny – Teegan, Leela and Peri Lomax – later move to Hollyoaks. Danny is also revealed to be the father of established character Ste Hay and the two develop a father-son relationship. Hollyoaks producer, Bryan Kirkwood, had introduced the Lomaxes in order to give Ste a family unit on the soap. The family deal with various dramas, including Tegan giving birth and Peri's brain tumour.
