Kitchissippi Ward (Ward 15) is a city ward in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It gets its name from the Algonquin name for the Ottawa River, meaning Great River. The ward is slightly west of downtown, and covers the neighbourhoods of Champlain Park, Civic Hospital, Hampton Park, Highland Park, Hintonburg, Island Park, McKellar Heights, McKellar Park, Mechanicsville, Westboro Beach, Westboro, Wellington Village, and Wellington Street West.
As of the 2014 election on October 27, 2014, the ward is represented by Councillor Jeff Leiper. [2]
The ward was created in 1994 from parts of Queensboro Ward, Richmond Ward and Elmdale Ward. It was known as just Ward 7 until given the Kitchissippi name in 1995.
The Ward's estimated population will be 38,900 in 2006. At the Canada 2001 Census it had 36,795 people.

Westboro is an area in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Located along the Ottawa River, Island Park Drive defines Westboro's eastern border, while the Ottawa River defines its northern border. Under this definition, the population of the area is 22,725.
The Ottawa City Council is the governing body of the City of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is composed of 24 city councillors and the mayor. The mayor is elected at large, while each councillor represents wards throughout the city. Council members are elected to four-year terms, with the last election being on October 24, 2022. The council meets at Ottawa City Hall in downtown Ottawa. Much of the council's work is done in the standing committees made up of sub-groups of councillors. The decisions made in these committees are presented to the full council and voted upon.

The Kichi Zībī Mīkan, formerly the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway, and previously the Ottawa River Parkway, is a four-lane scenic parkway along the Ottawa River in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It runs from Carling Avenue near Connaught Avenue, to Booth Street at the Canadian War Museum and National Holocaust Monument. It is maintained by the National Capital Commission. The speed limit is 60 km/h (37 mph). Bicycles are allowed on the road and on a parallel recreational path along the parkway.
Alta Vista Ward is a city ward in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada represented on Ottawa City Council. Alta Vista Ward was created prior to the 1966 election when Gloucester Ward was split in half due to population growth in the Alta Vista area. Until the 1972 elections, the ward was represented by two councillors. Prior to the 1980 election, the Ward was split in half, with the western half remaining as Alta Vista ward and the eastern half became Canterbury Ward. They were reunited prior to the 1994 Election and was known as Ward 10, and given the name Alta Vista-Canterbury Ward in 1995. During this time, on regional council it was known as just Alta Vista Ward. It was renamed to Alta Vista in 2000.

Somerset is a city ward in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It covers the neighbourhoods of Downtown Ottawa, Centretown, Lebreton Flats and most of Centretown West. It is Ottawa's smallest and most dense ward. It is represented on Ottawa City Council by Ariel Troster. It has an area of 6.5 km² and a projected 2006 population of 38,500. According to the 2001 Canadian census, it had a population of 36,365. The ward was created in 1994 when Dalhousie Ward and Wellington Ward were merged. At the time it was known as just Ward 6 until 1995 when it was given the Somerset name.

Christine Louise Leadman was a city councillor in Ottawa, Canada. She won the position for Kitchissippi Ward councillor in the 2006 Ottawa municipal election on 13 November 2006 after incumbent Shawn Little dropped out of the race. She only served one term however, losing the 2010 election. to Katherine Hobbs. After her defeat she went to on to head the Glebe Business Improvement Area (BIA).
Shawn William Little was a political consultant and Ottawa City Councillor in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, for the urban Kitchissippi Ward, consisting of neighbourhoods west of the City Centre. He was born in Ottawa and raised in its Westboro neighbourhood, where he attended Woodroffe Avenue and Broadview Public elementary schools followed by Nepean High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in history and political science from Carleton University, and a diploma in health sciences from Humber College. He wrote articles for the Newswest community paper in its early days. He died in November 2012 while vacationing in Cuba.
Highland Park is a sub-neighbourhood of Westboro, in the Kitchissippi Ward in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located between Carling Avenue and Richmond Road, Churchill Avenue and Denbury Ave. It is a mixed-income neighbourhood, with some large luxury homes closer to Richmond Road, middle-income homes built in the last two centuries, and a large number of lower-income low-rise apartment buildings closer to Carling Avenue. The population of the neighbourhood according to the Canada 2011 Census was 4,070.
McKellar Park is a neighbourhood located in Bay Ward in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is sometimes considered to be part of the greater Westboro area. It is bounded on the east by Denbury Avenue, on the south and west by Sherbourne Avenue and on the north by the Ottawa River. The neighborhood of Highland Park is directly to its east. It is considered a trendy and expensive area, being close to the Westboro Village.

McKellar Heights is a small neighbourhood located in Kitchissippi Ward, in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The neighbourhood is generally triangular in shape, and is generally bounded on the north by Westboro, on the west by Glabar Park, and on the south by Carlington. The population as of the Canada 2016 Census was 575.
Champlain Park is an older urban neighbourhood in Kitchissippi Ward in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was considered in the 1930s as the west end of town. The boundaries of the neighbourhood are the Ottawa River and Scott Street. To the east is Tunney's Pasture and to the west is Island Park Drive. Westboro Beach is also to the west. The population as of the 2016 Census was 1090.
Jeffrey Leiper is the current Ottawa city councillor for Kitchissippi Ward. He was first elected in the 2014 Ottawa municipal election, defeating the incumbent Katherine Hobbs.
