Korea National Defense University is a national university located in Nonsan, [1] South Korea. It was founded in 1955. [2] It got its current configuration in 2000. [2] [3] The university was situated in Seoul from its founding until its relocation to Nonsan in 2017. [1]
South Chungcheong Province, also known as Chungnam, is a province of South Korea in the Hoseo region in the southwest of the Korean Peninsula. South Chungcheong borders the provinces of Gyeonggi to the north, North Chungcheong, Sejong Special Self-governing City, and Daejeon Metropolitan City to the east, and North Jeolla to the south.
The Geum River is a major river of South Korea that originates in Jangsu-eup, North Jeolla Province. It flows northward through North Jeolla and North Chungcheong Provinces and then changes direction in the vicinity of Greater Daejeon and flows southwest through South Chungcheong Province before emptying into the Yellow Sea near Gunsan city.

The Veritable Records of the Joseon Dynasty are the annual records of Joseon, the last royal house to rule Korea. Kept from 1392 to 1865, the annals comprise 1,893 volumes and are thought to be the longest continual documentation of a single dynasty in the world. With the exception of two sillok compiled during the colonial era, they are the 151st national treasure of South Korea and listed in UNESCO's Memory of the World registry. The texts are also known as the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty or the True Record of the Joseon Dynasty.
Cheonan is the largest and most densely populated city of Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea, and the third largest city in the Hoseo region after Daejeon and Cheongju. Cheonan borders Gyeonggi-do in the north, Chungcheongbuk-do to the east and southeast, Sejong City to the south and Asan-si and Gongju-si to the west and southwest.
Nonsan is a city in South Chungcheong Province, South Korea. It is located at 36°12′N127°5′E. The origin of Nonsan's geographical names is said to have come from the small garden " Nolmoe, " which rises in the middle of farming fields, where rice paddies and mountain are said to reflect geographical features. The city belongs to the Daejeon Metropolitan Area.
Andong is a city in South Korea, and the capital of North Gyeongsang Province. It is the largest city in the northern part of the province with a population of 167,821 as of October 2010. The Nakdong River flows through the city. Andong is a market centre for the surrounding agricultural areas.
The Nonsan–Cheonan Expressway (Korean: 논산천안고속도로) is an expressway serving the South Chungcheong region in South Korea. It connects Nonsan on the Gyeongbu Expressway to Cheonan on the Honam Expressway. The freeway's route number is 25, which it shares with the Honam Expressway.
Gyeryong is a city in southeastern South Chungcheong province, South Korea. The current mayor is Choi Hong-Mook. The city was created in 2003, by a split from Nonsan city, following prolonged local agitation.

Gyeryongsan, a 845 m (2,772 ft) mountain in Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea. It lies at the meeting of the boundaries of several cities: Gongju, Gyeryong, Nonsan, and Daejeon. It has been traditionally regarded as a sacred mountain, with the most qi of any in South Korea. The name Gyeryongsan means chicken dragon mountain. Portions of the mountain are included in a South Korean military reserve. Other portions are part of Gyeryongsan National Park. In the mountain, there are famous Buddhist temples such as Donghaksa, Gapsa and Sinwonsa, the latter two both being over a thousand years old. In addition the highest peak, Cheonhwangbong, there are seven other peaks with an elevation exceeding 500m

Ahn Hee-jung, also known as An Hee-jung, is a former South Korean politician and convicted felon. He served as the 36th and 37th Governor of South Chungcheong Province. He stepped down from his role as governor and announced his retirement from public life after acknowledging accusations that he sexually assaulted his aide Kim Ji-eun on multiple occasions. In February 2019, he was sentenced to a three and a half year prison term for sexual assault.
Lee Du-yeon is a South Korean hurdler. He competed in the men's 400 metres hurdles at the 2000 Summer Olympics.
Hu In-jeong is a South Korean volleyball player and coach. He competed in the men's tournament at the 2000 Summer Olympics. He is the current director of KB Insurance Stars.
