At the time of his demise,he was serving as an MLA from Arki constituency.
Although India is a parliamentary democracy,the country's politics has become dynastic or with high level of nepotism,possibly due to the absence of party organizations,independent civil-society associations which mobilize support for a party,or centralized financing of elections. The dynastic phenomenon is present at the national,state,regional,and district level. Pratibha Singh is an Indian politician who is serving as Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha. She is the widow of Virbhadra Singh,who had been a six-time Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. She represents the Mandi constituency of Himachal Pradesh and is a member of the Indian National Congress.
Colonel Dhani Ram Shandil (Retd) is an Indian politician. He is a member of the Indian National Congress political party. In 1999,he was elected to the 13th Lok Sabha from Shimla constituency in Himachal Pradesh as a Himachal Vikas Congress candidate. He was re-elected to the 14th Lok Sabha in 2004 from the same constituency as an Indian National Congress. He is the MLA from Solan and previously served as Social Justice and empowerment minister in the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet. Mr. Shandil won by-poll election in October 2021 from Solan constituency.
Meira Kumar is an Indian politician and former diplomat. A member of the Indian National Congress,she was the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment from 2004 to 2009,the Minister of Water Resources for a brief period in 2009,and the 15th Speaker of Lok Sabha from 2009 to 2014. Annadale,also spelled as Annandale is a locality of Shimla city,in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is a flat valley bottom which includes the helipad as well as a golf course in the city. Annadale has also an army cantonment with an Army Heritage Museum. Due to its lush green environment,historical importance and first seen place by every VVIP visit,it is also known as the "Heart of Shimla".
