Kulob Airport or Kulyab Airport( IATA : TJU, ICAO : UTDK) is an airport serving Kulob, a city in the Khatlon province in Tajikistan.

The airport resides at an elevation of 2,293 feet (699 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 01/19 with an asphalt surface measuring 3,000 by 42 metres (9,843 ft × 138 ft).

Most of rugged Tajikistan's transportation system was built during the Soviet era, and since that time the system has deteriorated badly because of insufficient investment and maintenance. Khatlon Region, one of the four provinces of Tajikistan, is the most populous of the four first level administrative regions. It is situated in the southwest of the country, between the Hisor (Gissar) Range in the north and the river Panj in the south and borders on Afghanistan in the southeast and on Uzbekistan in the west. During Soviet times, Khatlon was divided into Kurgan-Tyube (Qurghonteppa) Oblast – with the Kofarnihon and Vakhsh river valleys – and Kulob Oblast – with the Kyzylsu and Yakhsu river valleys. Both regions were merged in November 1992 into today's Khatlon Region. The capital city is Bokhtar, formerly known as Qurghonteppa and Kurgan-Tyube.

Bokhtar International Airport is an international airport five kilometers northeast of the city of Bokhtar, near the village of Levakant. Also known as Kurgan-Tyube, but after renaming the city of Kurgan-Tyube to Bokhtar, it changed its name in the same way. It is one of the four international airports in Tajikistan.

Kulob Oblast was an administrative subdivision in Tajikistan during the Soviet period. It was created in 1939 but was abolished in 1955 along with Gharm Oblast and its territory was ceded to the Districts of Republican Subordination. In 1973 it was reconstituted and this time lasted until 1988 when it and its neighbor Qurghonteppa Oblast merged to form a new region, Khatlon Oblast. In 1990, Khalton Oblast was abolished and the 2 Oblasts were reconstituted. However, this only lasted 2 more years, because in 1992, it was once again merged with the Qurghonteppa Oblast to recreate Khatlon Region.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">East Air</span>

East Air was a privately owned airline based in Qurghonteppa, Tajikistan. The airline operated regular flights from Qurghonteppa and Kulob to Russia. In October 2014 the Tajikistan General Authority of Civil Aviation revoked East Air's Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) and the airline went out of business.

Hamadoni District is a district in the south-east of Khatlon Region of Tajikistan, located south of Kulob and stretching along a section of the Panj on the border with Afghanistan. Between 1950 and 2004 it was called Moskovskiy town, then renamed in honor of Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani, a 14th-century Persia Great Islamic preacher, traveller, poet, and scholar who preached Islam in different parts of world, and is buried in Khatlon.

It is the administrative capital of the Muminobod District in the eastern part of Khatlon Province, located north-east of the city of Kulob, not far from the Panj River and the international border with Afghanistan. The population of the town is 14,100.

Ravshan Kulob is a football club based in Kulob, Tajikistan, formed in 1965 as FK Ansol Kulob. The club was renamed FK Olimp-Ansol Kulob in 2003, before changing to its current name in 2005. They currently play in the Ligai Olii Tojikiston and play their home matches at Kulob Central Stadium.

Dahana is a village and a jamoat in Tajikistan, in central Asia. It is part of the city of Kulob in Khatlon Region. The jamoat has a total population of 29,776 (2015). Its administrative seat is in the village of Dahana.

The 2020 Tajikistan Cup is the 29th edition of the Tajikistan Cup, the knockout football tournament of Tajikistan, with the winner of the cup qualifying for the 2021 AFC Cup.
