Kumaun University is a state university [2] headquartered in Nainital, Uttarakhand, India.

In 2017, it hosted the first Kautik Student Film Festival. [3] [4]

Campuses

The academic wing of the University is spread over in two campuses (Dev Singh Bisht (DSB) Campus, Nainital, and newly constructed Sir JC Bose Technical Campus at Bhimtal) with an area of 5,31,373 sq.mt. (160 acres), the total built up area being 3,00,000 sq. mt.

The central administration office is in Sukhatal, Nainital.

UGC-Academic Staff College

The UGC-Academic Staff College, Kumaun University, Nainital was sanctioned by the UGC, New Delhi on 10 October 2006 and started its first orientation programme on 12 February 2007.[ citation needed ] In addition to conducting orientation programmes and refresher courses, the UGC-ASC undertakes a number of extension activities.[ citation needed ]

UGC-ASC Nainital conducted short-term courses (2–6 days) for the senior faculty and professional development programme for non-teaching staff. [5]

Sri Venkateswara College is a constituent college of the University of Delhi established in 1961 in New Delhi, India. It is managed by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams & UGC and awards degrees under the purview of the University of Delhi. The college offers courses both at the undergraduate level and the postgraduate level. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) is a UGC approved Private University in India.It was created by an act in the State of Karnataka, India and was established in December 2013.

Kautik International Student Film Festival is a 10-day competitive international student film festival, organised by CEFM-the Hermitage, Kumaun University, Nainital, Uttarakhand, in association with the Himalayan Society for Art, Culture, Education, Environment and Film Development (HIMACEEF) promoted by filmmakers/academicians Rajesh Shah and National Award winning documentary filmmaker Shalini Shah. The duo are film faculty members at the University. The festival is attended by students, theatre artistes, cinematographers, filmmakers and ministers.
