DIT University (erstwhile Dehradun Institute of Technology) is an Indian private university in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Founded by Naveen Agarwal in 1998, the University Grants Commission conferred autonomous status to DIT in 2012 and subsequently it was declared DIT University by Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly vide Act No. 10 of 2013. DIT University has been accorded by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council with Grade A.
DIT University's campus is located in Dehradun, in the foothills of Mussoorie. Dehradun is 240 kilometres northeast of Delhi. The area of the campus is 25 acres out of which 23 acres is developed, the prominent buildings are Vedanta, Chanakya and Civil block. There is a two acre ground available for students, parking, and other facilities are also available in DIT.
Admission to DIT University is offered to aspirant's based on their performance in JEE-Main for engineering and architecture undergraduates, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering for graduate courses, Common Admission Test/Management Aptitude Test for MBA and Uttarakhand State Entrance Examination for Master of Computer applications. DIT University is listed under the central counselling list of JEE-Main (earlier AIEEE). In 2013, many students were admitted to DITU via the Central Seat Allocation Board [3] counselling apart from normal counselling held at DITU. [4] Since 2014, admissions to post-graduate and doctoral programs are entertained by DIT University Entrance Test-DUET and interview conducted by DIT University. Apart from this, GATE/NET qualified students shall be given more preference. [5] [6]
DIT University has programs in Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy, Management Studies, Computing.
Youthopia is the annual cultural and technical inter-college festival of DITU. The prominent events include Battle of Bands, RoboWars, CodeHunt and Perceptrix. [7]
Sphurti [8] is the annual dance competition at the DITU campus. DITU invites colleges throughout India to participate in events including cricket, basketball, football, volleyball, track and field, badminton, table tennis. Since the first Sphurti, there are more than 69 colleges that have come to participate in Sphurti.
Aiming to promote Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam's vision of an era when the youth of India would enrich the world with their social, technical and academic brilliance, Vision 2K35 is a DIT University's initiative, to reach out to Young India. Vision 2K35 is a national level youth summit wherein, students will explore and evaluate the potential of renewable and conserving energy infrastructure for the nation by implementing most innovative Technical Ideas, Energy Auditing & Audit Presentation. The theme of the summit is what role the youth can play in bringing India in the league of Superpowers by 2035. [9]

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is a technical university located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. It is the oldest engineering institution in India, and was founded as the College of Civil Engineering in British India in 1847 by the Lieutenant-Governor of the North-Western Provinces, James Thomason, in order to train officers and surveyors employed in the construction of the Ganges Canal. In 1854 , after the completion of the canal and Thomason's death, it was renamed the Thomason College of Civil Engineering by Proby Cautley, the designer and projector of the canal. It was renamed University of Roorkee in 1949, and again renamed IIT Roorkee in 2001. The institution has 22 academic departments covering Engineering, Applied Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences and Management programs with an emphasis on scientific and technological education and research.
University of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) was established in 1917, under the name Government Engineering College, by Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya. It is the 5th engineering college to be established in the country and 1st in Karnataka. UVCE is one of the few technical institutions in the country that is vested with the status of a university and autonomy on the lines of IITs. It is one of the oldest technical institutions in the country, imparting technical education leading to B.Tech., B. Arch., M.Tech., M. Arch. and PhD degrees in the various disciplines of Engineering and Architecture. The college is approved by the AICTE and the Government of Karnataka. UVCE has secured an NAAC accreditation score of 3.75. UVCE, while a constituent college of Bangalore University until 2022, secured an NIRF ranking of 64. The college used to receive financial aid under the TEQIP program from the World Bank.
National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), also known as NITK Surathkal, formerly known as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC), is a public technical university at Surathkal, Mangaluru. It was founded in 1960 as KREC while today, it is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India and is recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. It has a suburban campus, in close proximity to the Arabian Sea. National Highway 66 runs through the campus and serves as the major mode of access.

Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE-Main), formerly All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), is an Indian standardised computer-based test for admission to various technical undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and planning across colleges in India. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to B.Tech, B.Arch, etc. programs in premier technical institutes such as the National Institutes of Technology (NIT) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT), which are based on the rank secured in the JEE-Main. It is usually conducted twice every year. Since mid of 2019, the JEE has been conducted fully online as a computerised test.
Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi(IIT-BHU) is a public technical university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Founded in 1919 as the Banaras Engineering College, it became the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in 1968. It was later designated an Indian Institute of Technology in 2012.
