Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is a public technical and research university located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India, headed by Director Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi. It is formerly known as University of Roorkee (1949-2001) and Thomason College of Civil Engineering (1847-1949). Established in 1847 in British India by the then lieutenant governor, Sir James Thomason, it is the oldest technical institution in Asia. It was given university status in 1949 and was converted into an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in 2001, thus becoming the seventh IIT to be declared. IIT Roorkee has 22 academic departments covering Engineering, Applied Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences and Management programs with a strong emphasis on scientific and technological education and research.
Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) is an engineering college located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, and one of the oldest engineering colleges in Asia. Founded in 1887 and formerly known as the Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute, it adopted its present name on 26 January 1997. Government Engineering College, Kozhikode (GECK), Kerala is an engineering institution under the Department of Technical Education in Kerala, India. Located in Westhill Kozhikode of the Malabar region rich in traditions. The Government Engineering College Kozhikode is one of the five Government Engineering Colleges given sanction in the year 1999. Admissions are based on the performance of students in the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance test. The placements at the college has been increasing every year with many students placed as software and systems engineers at MNCs such as Infosys, TCS and many more. The institute has some space constraints, having difficulties in building the Boys hostel even the fund has been sanctioned by the state government. Thereby the college PTA has been actively involved in selecting a new land area for the construction of a new campus. Initially, the College was located at the hostel of Government Polytechnic College, Kozhikode which is near the college. It was seven years after its founding, the college shifted to Westhill Kozhikode to its original building. The Government Engineering College, Kozhikode situated at West Hill is well connected to the Kozhikode city by open and wide roads, the institute campus is about 5 Km away from the Kozhikode Railway Station and 30 Km from Calicut International Airport.
Apollo Engineering College (AEC) is a private, self-financing, co-educational institution approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to the Anna University. AEC was established in 2007. This institution has a built up area of about 2,00,000 sq.feet and has been fully finished. The floors are furnished and there is a garden. All departments have smart rooms that are equipped with most modern teaching aids like LCD projectors, OHP, multimedia computer systems and audio/video devices.

Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering & Information Technology (IIAEIT) is an aerospace engineering college in Pune, India. It also offers mechanical engineering and other technology related courses. It is known for its full-time face to face B.Tech Aerospace Engineering course (BTAE) which is jointly launched by [sandip university] (SUN) and Aeronautical Engineering and Research Organisation (AERO).
