Stillman College is a private historically black Presbyterian college in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It awards Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in 22 programs housed within three academic schools. The college has an average enrollment of 728 students and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Christopher Jon Weinke is an American football coach and former football and baseball player. After spending six years in the Toronto Blue Jays minor league baseball system, he enrolled at Florida State University at the age of 25, and played college football as a quarterback for the Florida State Seminoles. The Third Saturday in October is the Alabama–Tennessee football rivalry, an American college football rivalry game played annually by the Crimson Tide of the University of Alabama and the Volunteers of the University of Tennessee. The respective campuses are located approximately 310 miles (500 km) apart. It is known as the Third Saturday in October because the game was traditionally played at such date prior to the 1992 football season, when the Southeastern Conference (SEC) split into its East and West divisions. From 1995 to 2015, it was only scheduled for that date six times, though it was again scheduled for that date from 2016 through 2019 and in 2022 and 2023. Alabama leads the series 59–39–7. At 39 wins, Tennessee has more victories over Alabama than any other program in college football. At 59 wins, Alabama has more victories over Tennessee than any other program in college football.

Balpha Lonnie Noojin was an American college sports coach and administrator, educator, Minor League Baseball player, politician, and businessman. He served as the athletic director at Howard College—now known as Samford University—in Birmingham, Alabama from 1912 to 1915 and at the University of Alabama from 1916 to 1919.
The 1904 Alabama Crimson White football team represented the University of Alabama in the 1904 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association football season. The team was led by head coach W. A. Blount, in his second season, and played their home games at The Quad in Tuscaloosa and at West End Park in Birmingham, Alabama. In what was the twelfth season of Alabama football, the team finished with a record of seven wins and three losses.
The 1905 Alabama Crimson White football team represented the University of Alabama in the 1905 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association football season. It was Alabama's 13th overall and 10th season as a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA). The team was led by head coach Jack Leavenworth, in his first year, and played their home games at both the University of Alabama Quad in Tuscaloosa and the Birmingham Fairgrounds in Birmingham, Alabama. They finished the season with a record of six wins and four losses.
Derrick D'wayne Burroughs is an American football coach and former cornerback who played five seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the Buffalo Bills. He was drafted by the Bills in the first round of the 1985 NFL Draft with the 14th overall pick. He served two stints as the head football coach at Lane College, from 2010 to 2013 and 2015 to 2019.
Theophilus Danzy was an American college football coach. He served as the head football coach at Prairie View A&M University (1972), Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (1977–1978), Miles College (1980–1982), Alcorn State University (1986–1990), and Stillman College (1999–2005), compiling a career head coaching record of 84–88–3. He was an alumnus of Tennessee State University. Danzy died on November 27, 2012.
Lawrence E. Simmons was an American football and baseball coach. He served as the head football coach at Tennessee A&I State College—now known as Tennessee State University—in Nashville, Tennessee in 1939 and again from 1961 to 1962, and at the Colored Normal Industrial Agricultural and Mechanical College of South Carolina—now known as South Carolina State University—in Orangeburg, South Carolina from 1951 to 1952, compiling a career college football coach record of 20–18–3. Simmons also had two stints as the head baseball coach at Tennessee A&I, from 1947 to 1950 and 1953 to 1955.
Don A. Lee is an American football coach. He served as the head football coach at Belhaven College from 2006 to 2008, Olivet Nazarene University from 2009 to 2010, Concordia College Alabama from 2012 to 2013, and Virginia University of Lynchburg from 2014 to 2016. Lee was the second African American head coach in history of the NAIA's Mid-South Conference and is a recipient of a National Football League minority coach fellowship.
The Stillman Tigers football team represented Stillman College in the NCAA Division II, competing as part of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference until 2015. Stillman played its home games at the 9,000 seat Stillman Stadium, which is located on-campus in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Although only fielding a team since the 1999 season, Stillman previously fielded a team that was disbanded following the 1950 season. The program was discontinued after their 2015 season when the school eliminated all athletic teams, except for men's and women's basketball, due to increased costs associated with the athletic program.
The West Alabama Tigers football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the University of West Alabama located in the U.S. state of Alabama. The team competes in the NCAA Division II and is a member of the Gulf South Conference. West Alabama's first football team was fielded in 1938. The team plays its home games at the 7,000 seat Tiger Stadium in Livingston, Alabama. The Tigers are coached by Brett Gilliland.
Teddy Keaton is an American college football coach. He is the head football coach for Clark Atlanta University, a position he has held since 2024. He was the head football coach for Allen University from 2018 to 2023. Keaton was born in Brewton, Alabama. Keaton previously served as the running backs coach of the Miles College Golden Bears. Keaton graduated from Stillman College in 1999 and served as an assistant coach under Theophilus Danzy through the 2004 season. From Stillman, he served as the defensive coordinator with the Odessa Roughnecks and as head coach of both the Lakeland Thunderbolts and Huntington Heroes arena football teams before returning to college coaching. He served as defensive backs coach for one season before becoming offensive coordinator at Webber International University between 2008–2010. On December 2, 2010, Keaton was hired to replace L. C. Cole as head coach at Stillman. After the 2015 season, Stillman discontinued its football program. Keaton's record at Stillman was 27 wins and 26 losses.
Greg Thompson is a former American football coach and college athletics administrator. He served as head football coach at coach of the Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia from 1981 to 1994 and Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama from 2006 to 2008, compiling career college football record of 70–92–4. Thompson was also the athletic director at Morris Brown from 1982 to 1995 and interim athletic director at Stillman from October 2004 to June 2005 and again from January through July 2007.
Randy Pippin is an American football coach. He grew up in Texas and attended Cisco College before transferring to Tennessee Technological University where he played running back from 1983 to 1984. He began his coaching career in 1985 as a graduate assistant at Tennessee Tech, and then held assistant positions at Middle Tennessee (1988–1989), Trinity Valley Community College (1990–1992) and again at Tennessee Tech (1996–1997). Pippin has also served as head coach at Trinity Valley Community College (1993–1995), Middle Georgia College (1998–2000), West Alabama (2001–2003), Cottage Hill Christian Academy in Mobile Alabama (2004), Northwest Mississippi Community College (2005–2007), The Classical Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado(2009–2010) while directing the Glazier Mega Clinics. He then returned to Texas as the defensive coordinator at East Texas Baptist and later East Central Oklahoma while directing the Texas and Oklahoma Nike Coach of the Year Clinics. In recent years Pippin worked both on and off the field from 2015-2022 as an assistant at UAB until 2023, when he became a senior analyst for Rich Rodriguez at Jacksonville State University (Alabama).
Loyd Hayden Riley was an American college basketball coach. He was the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide for eight seasons during the 1960s, and the Tide's head baseball coach for ten seasons in the 1970s. Riley was also a recruiting coordinator for football at Alabama under Paul "Bear" Bryant.
John Trotwood Moore (1858–1929) was an American journalist, writer and local historian. He was the author of many poems, short stories and novels. He served as the State Librarian and Archivist of Tennessee from 1919 to 1929. He created Moore Academy in Pine Apple, Alabama in 1883. He was "an apologist for the Old South", and a proponent of lynching.
Kevin Sherrer is an American football coach and former player who is currently the defensive coordinator at Georgia State. Before that was the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He also previously served as the defensive coordinator at the University of Tennessee (2018–2019), the outside linebackers coach at Georgia (2014–2017), the defensive coordinator at South Alabama (2013), the Director of Player Development at Alabama (2010–2012), and as a high school assistant coach at Hoover High School, Spain Park High School, and Tuscaloosa County. He played college football at Alabama.
Richard D. Moncrief is an American high school football coach. He is the head football coach for The Heritage School, a position he has held since 2024. He was the interim head football coach for Clark Atlanta University for 2023. He was the head football coach for Sidney Lanier High School from 2003 to 2005. He also coached for UAB, Selma High School, Alabama State, and Pace. He played college football as a quarterback for Clemson.
