Cornell Law School is the law school of Cornell University, a private Ivy League university in Ithaca, New York. One of the five Ivy League law schools, it offers four law degree programs, JD, LLM, MSLS and JSD, along with several dual-degree programs in conjunction with other professional schools at the university. Established in 1887 as Cornell's Department of Law, the school today is one of the smallest top-tier JD-conferring institutions in the country, with around 200 students graduating each year. The Cornell University Graduate School confers most professional and research master's degrees and doctoral degrees in various fields of study for the university. The departments under which instruction and research take place are housed in Cornell's other schools and colleges. The administrative offices for the Graduate School are located in Caldwell Hall, on the Ag Quad. For decades, the Graduate School was housed in Sage Hall which also included social areas and dormitory rooms for graduate students. The Graduate School does not have a faculty. Instead, it organizes the faculty of other colleges into "fields" representing distinct subject areas. Students apply for admission to a specific field, although once admitted, students are not limited to that field when selecting courses or faculty to serve of the committee supervising the student's research.
Sage Hall was built in 1875 at Cornell University's Ithaca, New York campus. Originally designed as a residential building, it currently houses the Johnson Graduate School of Management.

Paul Martin O'Leary was an American economist and educator, and the first Dean of the S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management. He served on the faculty of Cornell University from 1924 until 1967, taking several leaves to join other economists from Eastern universities in Franklin D. Roosevelt's brain trust.
Melvin G. de Chazeau was an American economist and the second Dean of Cornell's S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management following Paul O'Leary's return to teaching. De Chazeau joined the university's College of Arts & Sciences Economics Department in 1948 and he retired from the Cornell Faculty in 1967. As a professor emeritus, de Chazeau taught at Cornell and Dartmouth College through AY 1969–1970.
Charles Stewart Sheppard was an American educator and third dean of the S.C. Johnson School of Business at Cornell University.
Harvey Justin Davidson was an engineer, management consultant and American educator, the sixth Dean of the S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University and Dean of the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University. Davidson was only thirty-eight years old when appointed the sixth dean of Johnson Graduate School of Management and served from 1968 to 1979. He was the first non-academic to be appointed to this position. Davidson served as Dean of the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University from 1979 to 1989. He died of Alzheimer's disease in Columbus, Ohio on October 28, 1999.
Curtis William Tarr was an American academic best known for his role in the reform of the Selective Service System—in particular, of the draft lottery, which had been criticized for being insufficiently random. Tarr also served as the seventh dean of the S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, and as the twelfth president of Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin.
David Ansell Thomas was an American educator and the seventh Dean of the S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, from 1981-1984. He received his B.A. from Texas Tech (1937), his M.B.A. and C.P.A. from Texas Christian University, and his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan (1949).

Howard Bagnall Meek was an American educator of hotel management. He was the founder and first dean of Cornell University School of Hotel Administration that was the first to teach college level hotel management courses.
