Chastity Darnestine Daniels [1] (born March 21, 1978), known professionally as La Chat, is an American rapper from Memphis, Tennessee. She is best known for her association with the Hypnotize Minds record label. She was one of the two female members of Memphis-based hip hop group Three 6 Mafia alongside Gangsta Boo.

Career

In 2000, La Chat made a guest appearance on the hit Project Pat song "Chickenhead", which helped her gain widespread recognition. [2]

La Chat left Hypnotize Minds some time after the release of her debut album, Murder She Spoke (2001). She went on to release a number of albums and mixtapes for different record labels in the following years. [3]

In 2010, La Chat won Female Rap Artist of the Year at the Knocdown-SCM Awards. [4]

La Chat and Gangsta Boo's collaborative extended play Witch came out on May 27, 2014. [5] [6]

The label served as the successor to Three 6 Mafia's previous label, Prophet Entertainment, which was co-founded by DJ Paul and Juicy J along with Nicholas ‘Nick Scarfo’ Jackson in 1994. Hypnotize Minds was created after DJ Paul and Juicy J had a disagreement with Jackson, which led to Three 6 Mafia and several other artists previously on the Prophet label to move to the new Hypnotize Minds imprint.

Hypnotize Camp Posse is the only studio album by the Hypnotize Camp Posse, a collaboration between Three 6 Mafia and members of its label, Hypnotize Minds. The Hypnotize Camp Posse group is essentially a larger or "broader" form of Three 6 Mafia, as it includes all the members of Three 6 Mafia as well as all the artists signed to Hypnotize Minds. All the artists featured on the album were Hypnotize Minds artists with the exception of guest artist Pastor Troy, a member of the Atlanta-based group D.S.G.B.. The album was released by Loud Records and Hypnotize Minds on January 25, 2000, and distributed through RED Distribution.

Gloria Hallelujah Woods, known professionally as GloRilla, is an American rapper from Memphis, Tennessee. She first became known for her 2022 single "F.N.F. ", which peaked within the top 50 of the Billboard Hot 100 and led her to sign with fellow Memphis rapper, Yo Gotti's record label, Collective Music Group, an imprint of Interscope Records in July of that year. Released that same month, her follow-up single, "Tomorrow" spawned a remixed sequel that peaked within the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 and received double platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Both songs, along with the gold-certified single "Blessed", preceded the release of her debut extended play (EP), Anyways, Life's Great in November, which entered the Billboard 200 at number 11.
