La Japonaise is the eighth studio album by Japanese recording artist Meg. It was released on April 25, 2012 through King Records.
With the theme of "songs that connect Japan and France", [1] La Japonaise is Meg's first concept album, consisting only of Japanese anime theme songs. "Discotheque", "Banana no Namida", "Believe", "Rouge no Dengon", "Still Love Her" and "Tough Boy" had been previously released -in that order-, although exclusively in France through iTunes Store under the supervision of Warner Music Japan. Though the singles were released on Warner, this album was released through King Records' sublabel Starchild, making it her first release with the label. [2]

Carole King Klein is an American singer-songwriter and musician who has been active since 1958, initially as one of the staff songwriters at the Brill Building and later as a solo artist. Azumanga Daioh is a Japanese yonkoma comedy manga series written and illustrated by Kiyohiko Azuma. "Into the Groove" is a song recorded by American singer Madonna, and featured on the 1985 film Desperately Seeking Susan. Written and produced by both Madonna and Stephen Bray, the main inspiration behind the song was the dance floor; the singer wrote it while watching a Latin American man whom she was attracted to. Its instrumentation features synthesizers and drum machines, with Madonna's voice being double tracked on the chorus. Sexual innuendos and undertones are present throughout the lyrics, which are written as an invitation to dance with the singer. Originally written for her friend Mark Kamins, Madonna later decided to use it on the film, as one of the scenes needed a dance song. It was later added to the 1985 international re-issue of her second studio album, Like a Virgin (1984), and remixed for her compilations You Can Dance (1987), and The Immaculate Collection (1990).

Superfly is a Japanese rock act that debuted on April 4, 2007. The film stars the voices of Mirai Shida, Ryunosuke Kamiki, Shinobu Otake, Keiko Takeshita, Tatsuya Fujiwara, Tomokazu Miura, and Kirin Kiki, and tells the story of a young Borrower (Shida) befriending a human boy (Kamiki), while trying to avoid being detected by the other humans.
Cécile Corbel is a French and Breton singer, harpist, and composer. She has released five albums of original music and worked for Studio Ghibli as a composer for its 2010 film, The Borrower Arrietty. Corbel sings in many languages including French, Italian, Breton, and English and has done songs in Spanish, German, Japanese, Irish, and Turkish. "Kuroneko no Tango" is a tango song recorded in 1969 by young children in Italy and Japan. The original Italian version came last in the Zecchino d'Oro competition on 11 March 1969. It was written by "Framario", Armando Soricillo, and Francesco Saverio Maresca, and was sung by four-year-old Vincenza Pastorelli. In 2007, Pastorelli was arrested after an anti-prostitution operation dubbed "Gatto Nero" by Carabinieri; her appeal against a three-year prison sentence was pending in the Court of Cassation in October 2011.
