La Vanguardia Airport( IATA : VVC, ICAO : SKVV) is an airport serving the city of Villavicencio in the Meta Department of Colombia. It serves regular passenger, charter and cargo airlines as well as private sectors. The airport is just north of the city.

Avianca S.A., is the largest airline in Colombia. It has been the flag carrier of Colombia since December 5, 1919, when it was initially registered under the name SCADTA. El Dorado International Airport is an international airport serving Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, and its surrounding areas. The airport is located mostly in the Fontibón district of Bogotá, although it partially extends into the Engativá district and through the municipality of Funza in the Western Savanna Province of the Cundinamarca Department. It served over 39 million passengers in 2023 making it the second busiest airport in South America and 3rd overall in Latin America in terms of passenger traffic, as well as being the 32nd busiest airport in the world in 2022. With 760,000 metric tons of cargo passing through the same year, it is also Iberoamerica's most important cargo hub. El Dorado is also by far the busiest and most important airport in Colombia, accounting for just under half (49%) of the country's air traffic. Aeropesca Colombia Flight 217 was an domestic scheduled passenger flight in Colombia from La Vanguardia Airport, Villavicencio to El Dorado International Airport, Bogotá. On 26 March 1982 the flight was operated by a four-engined Vickers Viscount turboprop registered HK-2382 which collided with a mountain at 7,700 feet 130 km south east from Bogotá near Quetame in bad weather. The storm hampered rescue attempts. All 21 on board were killed.

On 9 March 2019, a Douglas DC-3 operated by Latinoamericana de Servicios Aéreo crashed near San Carlos de Guaroa, Colombia. The plane was on a flight from Jorge Enrique González Torres Airport, San José del Guaviare to La Vanguardia Airport, Villavicencio. All 14 people on board were killed, including the mayor of Taraira. The crew were attempting to land at Villavicencio and had just declared an emergency.

ARCA was a Colombian cargo airline company founded in 1956 and ceased operations in 1997. The company was based in La Vanguardia Airport, Villavicencio.

LAC was a Colombian airline that was founded in Barranquilla in 1974.

Aliansa – Aerolineas Andinas is a Colombian airline based at Vanguardia Airport. The airline was founded by Jorge Álvarez and his family on August 29, 1989, and commenced operations in 1995. Aliansa operates cargo, and passenger charter flights, mainly from Vanguardia Airport, and to the Amazon and eastern plains regions of Colombia. The airline serves approximately 95 percent of airports in Colombia.
